All you need to know about suzuki gixxer

Suzuki! this name has not been a big one for bike enthousiasts in India both in commuter and the premium segments for a long time, the hayate and the GS 150R did not seem to do their duties well, even the inazuma did not cope up due to its dated boring styling(my own veiws) and its low value to money propositions, but wait! there are new Suzukis in town town, Lets and the Gixxer.lets talk about the lets later but now.let us see if the Gixxer is worth its worthy badge of the extremely popular Suzuki GSXR.

Firstly lets have a look at its styling.Anyone’s first look at the Gixxer  instantly makes them realize it looks a lot like te Yamaha’s FZ, its low headlight, its large tyres which are exactly the width of the FZ’s, the huge looking sculpted fuel tank, the front callipers and the rear mono shock remind us of the mostly familiar and highly popular Yamaha FZ, in fact I think the suzuki has taken the stylng to the next level with its neat tail lamp which gels with the design and also the body coloured split grab rails also look great on the bike even the air scoops.

Gixxer badging on them also help in elevating the looks of the bike in my opinion it would ave been great if the headlamp would me more extensively designed so as to match with all the creases and sharp lines on the bike.the rear end of the bike also looks stunning.overall the new suzuki as a macho street bike look which impresses me alot. Next coming to the ergonomics, the bike offers excellent street bike riding stance as the FZ the sculpted tank offers excellent grip on bike and a blended feel with the bike while high speed cornering and hard braking and they are big enough for a biiig guy’s thighs the instrument cluster on the suzuki is an all new fully digital one which has everything which its competeters offer and an extra feature of gear position indicator which is new in its class it as an orange backlit LED screen, The handle bar is wide and comfortable.the quality of plastics is also acceptable but not as premium as the yamaha’s. now talking about the main thing, the heart of the Gixxer, the engine of Gixxer is a 155cc mill which produces 14.6 bhp at 8000 rpm and peak torque of 1.42 kgm at 6000 rpm.this is slightly less than the pulsar 150 but the torque of Gixxer is highest in its class. The all new suzuki mill feels refined and rev happy, the low end and the middle of throttle are most responsive, when te gixxer crosses 6000 rpm mark it knd of lacks that feel as in lower rev bands, but its is not that bad as that of the FZ.The top speed of the bike is between 115 and 120.the suzukis engine is also efficient returning an average mielage of 50-55 kmpl which is pretty good for a bike of that kind.the pickup of the bike is also decent and is definetely more than the FZ The ride quality of the gixxer is also superb and the pillion ride is also comfortable, the pillion is placed a little bit high with respect to the rider. The huge front callipers and the rear monoshock do their duties pretty well by swallowing th e bumps and potholes on our roads. Overall suzuki has come with a grown up bike for the indian market and it is aiming straight at the segment leader FZ.with the given peice of kit suzuki seems surely hit a sweet spot and te price s also a few thosands lower than the  FZ.the bike is soo goooddd and was worth the long wait Suzuki has been keeping us.The suzuki gixxer surely deserves its name badge.
