GS150R..Highway Cruiser or City Commuter? Its Both

Bought this bike after much of research & comparison & also buys. Yes, I have bought & sold off Apache160 & Pulsar 180UG4 for various reasons…ultimately no satisfaction. But this fellow GS is a delight to ride. Host of tech  features: TPS, 6th gear with indicator, Vibration dampers with engine balancer technology, Eco & Power mode rides , Big tires, strong yet smooth suspension, High ground clearance, Good dead weight to stability & to sustain against cross winds, good braking, Strong Body (No plastic business)..& much more Its derives from Suzuki’s GS super bike series. So no looking back.

Good City commuter Bike: Comfortable riding posture: Stretched arms, straight spine, relaxed legs and wrists. Good speed & pickup. Just rips off in 3rd & 4th gear. Mileage:

That’s what is the highlight. In city its sure shot 51~52. ..& on high way with 6th gear down - mileage on & on. sometimes more than 60 kmpl . Easy handling & maneuvering in stop start traffic. Big tires & superb suspension can take over any potholes Gear Indicator helps a lot to avoid panic gear shifting. Many of you might have experienced, when in traffic jams or after crossing speed breaker, one is not sure on which gear he is in. Then starts a panic down shift/up shift. With the help of Gear indicator you are sure on what gear you are & on what gear you want to go. Absolute stress free ride. Highway Cruiser: What is required to Cruise on Highway?

Good Speed: yes, this beauty easily does 3 digit cruising.

Good Power: Yes, 13.8N Torque ensures you overtake with ease, Higher torque also helps to keep the bike effortless cruising even with pillion riding. Usually Bikes tens to loose power when driven pillion.

Good Stability: yes, 149 kg with high level of Suzuki engineering keeps the bike well planted on highways & helps fight cross winds.

Good Mileage: 6th gear takes care of all. Yes guys, Mileage is very Imp factor. Big daddy guys are always welcome to go in for Hayabusas or Harleys.

Good riding posture: No vehicle in this category can even come close to GS in comfort riding. Reliability: Suzuki stands by you. Myths / Rumors about GS150R: More deadweight, difficult to handle.

Fact: Its 149kg. Just 10~11 kg more than Pulsar. Does it mean a pulsar becomes absolutely difficult to handle if you carry a 10kg vegetable basket along? Guys, Dead weight of this bike is an added advantage. Usually the mileage drops, but with high torque engine, the mileage is UP instead !! Seat height is more: Fact: Its same as unicorn. Go check it. Initial pickup is less.

Fact: yes, it’s  a second less compared to pulsars & FZs in 0~60 stretch. But when in 3rd & 4th gear, it zooms off. Unbeatable, no bike can come near. Let’s introspect. Does this second really affects our city ride? Yes, It’s definitely not a drag racer. It’s a practical bike. Fewer service Stations/ Parts issue: Fact: I don’t speak of the past. Now it’s all  very good. Check out its website. You have it everywhere. Verdict: It’s a very good engineered, practical bike. Even today, decade old Suzuki fiero (s) with more than a lack Kms keeps zooming in the city, tirelessly. GS is a long term, long life bike unlike many popular bikes in India I come across with engine jobs done in 40000 kms. Suzuki 2wheelers is slowly gaining the momentum in Indian Market. They are not aggressive marketers, the want to come up by word of mouth which lasts long. Just go for it.
