I am from Kerala and I bought suzuki Heat on 2006 may. Since then I clocked 35000 kms on this bike. When I bought this bike the only consideration was a bike with low price. I have not given any points to looks. The name suzuki says for it.
Well my experiance with this bike is awsome. I am not exggerating. I have not faced any problems for this bike so far. I have only changed those parts which will tear with time like air filter and spark plug. The only con is its parts are relatively costly. The rear brake shoe cost me Rs.500 compared to 150rupees for other bikes. The reliability part is good for this bike.
I used to drive mostly in highways about 300kms in one stretch. It never complained . I didnt faced any back problems. or any sort of inconvenience.
About the performance of this bike its just a 125cc engine with 5gears. the torque of this vehicle is amazing that I can drive it in the 5th cog at 30 kmper hour speed. It got somewhat a nice pickup. I dont say it will fly but it manages. the top speed I acheived is 95kmph. And importantly no vibrations at that speed. It is easy to handle and returns a best mileage of 65kmpl and worst of 53kmpl. Mosty on mixed driving conditions, I used to drive at 60kmph usually, it returns 57kmpl.
Now the negatives of this bike- It got an unplesant engine sound. Some sounds are there because of the body coul which they told is not there for new models. At times when I drove with a pillion or when I am climbing up a steep road there is sound of pistons or there will be knocking. Thats all.
Altogather this bike made me a fan of suzuki. Today I am thinking of upgrading to a 150cc bike and I am going for Suzuki itself the gs150r. The service is also good in my place, Palakkad.
