I have been having having horrific experiences with this vehicle. I bought a swish on Jun-14 and regretted the decision the third day after buying it. I was in busy road in Bangalore at the rush hour and the vehicle accelerated itself without any reason and there was no way it was stopping.
Scared to death, I somehow managed to switch of the engine and avoided bumping off to a car by just a few inches.Needless to say it could have led to a serious accident. I went to the showroom the very next day and explained the situation and the service guy said it could be some minor issue with a tone of neglect and seemingly needing a lesson or two about customer service.
In the very next week, it was like a déjà vu but the rider was my wife with sister as a pillion.
My wife is totally petrified with the incident and promised herself never again to touch this vehicle.
When I went to the showroom this time, the guy reluctantly took the vehicle inside and within the next 20 minutes came back finding nothing wrong with the vehicle.
As the vehicle was bought for my dad, it was very sparingly used and during the next two services, when mentioned about these incidents, let alone finding the cause, they refused to even acknowledge this issue existed. With multiple recurrences of the same issue my dad would never go beyond 20 kmph on this vehicle.
But yesterday things turned ugly and while my dad was riding with my mom as a pillion, there were smokes and flames in the vehicle which were noticed by passersby which notified my parents to stop the vehicle.
After the visit to the service center, they say it is due to a fault in clutch which had melted away demanding rs 5000 for the repair
When my dad reported this incident to the manager there, The service folks without actually heeding to the request, in turn were blaming by dad for his style of riding who has been has been riding bikes even before these guys had dropped out from the womb.
I do not have any trust on their service now and have decided to take up this issue to the next level with the Suzuki customer complaints division if they have any and if need arises with the consumers grievance cell.
I had asked during the visit of my first complaint whether there were any reports of such incident being reported from elsewhere and the service folks answered in negative but I argued(in vain) that being an isolated incident stands no ground for their neglect and apathy.
Also their say of this being an isolated incident was found untrue after some search online and found a few cases being reported by different customers from different parts of the country
I am demanding a total refund on the vehicle cost and I am totally scared to ride this vehicle.
I would not recommend this vehicle to anyone who love a peaceful life but the Government can surely buy it as a replacement for the electric chair!
