Enjoy the suzuki ride and be there in a swish

I may be newbie here writing reviews but not to reviewing the product. Here is the review on Suzuki swish 125.

I used to ride a motorcycle(Hero Honda splendor) for a long time, this February I decided to sell it off and purchase an automatic transmission scooter as my bike a made a hole in my pocket for maintenance. So I decided to buy a scooter taking into consideration ease of  operation, comfort, multipurpose.I knew that mileage of these scooters can’t be compared to bikes, yet I gave up with mileage considering other pros.

Before purchasing swish I researched for other scooters in India like Honda Activa, TVS Wego, Mahindra Rodeo and Duro, Hero Pleasure and Suzuki Access, after reading lot of reviews and getting the opinion of friends and other people in my neighborhood, finally I booked Suzuki Access 125   at my place, the waiting time was 5 months for this scooter better to Honda Activa 9 months at my place, i don’t like remaining scooters as they are not good for the price we pay, by the way the Honda dealer at my place is very unfriendly the guys at Honda showroom won’t even look at the customer or show them the product, this is bad hence I gave up purchasing the Honda activa, by the way Access is the best scooter in India as of now.We should not compare activa to access as the class of vehicles are different.(Activa 110cc segment, Access 125 cc).

In January 2012 I came to know about the launch of new scooter by Suzuki in Delhi auto expo, as soon as I saw the product I am impressed with upgraded design, as access though good in all areas lacks styling which is fulfilled by swish 125.so I changed my booking to swish 125 and got the scooter by end of march. This is the premium scooter offered by Suzuki.

Now What is swish, its a upgrade to old school guy Suzuki access 125. It has the same 125cc engine which powers the access, more refined engine increases torque and pickup.Minor deign changes to access makes swish look better than access, new aerodynamic sharp edges design make the people turn their head.Guys this will happen to you people will stare at you for a while when you are zooming and zapping in the heavy traffic.

Handling is much better than access, more space at leg area, pillion grab rail adds comfort for pillion rider. The swish is lighter by 5kgs than access, which adds some performance boost, you will note it if you have ridden access.

Smooth and silent engine, easy to read instrument panel, no vibrations, you will say its the Suzuki ride after you drive it.

Not yet taken it out of the city yet, hence can’t comment about highway performance, little issues like engine stopping suddenly before 1st service a few times, rectified after service, lights are good and focus is really good no problem driving in the night, cornering is excellent you can confidently drive in corners, road grip is better even in rains it did not skid till now.No problems with self start even in rainy days.

City mileage average 30-35km which is a bit concerned for me but its expected with the scooter the owners of even 110cc segment are getting same average in city, so its not much bothering me.

I expect a highway average of around 45km.Service is OK here in Guntur. So far good going after 6 months of purchase.Care should be taken as the body is plastic.

Update:

Top speed 90 km/h

0-60 km/h can be reached in 8-10 seconds.

Verdict:

I recommend purchasing if you could pay premium price than Suzuki access for styling and little refinements.overall its the best in 125cc segment scooters which are available right now. I didn’t ride Yamaha Ray, Vespa 125, hero maestro hence can’t comment on them, but as far the specs and price are concerned its the best in its class, go for it.
