A review always means to analyse pros and cons of a substance or product, bt before this also there are some words whithout which review can not be started.so i m starting with therearview
rearview - bike was neither my cup of tea, nor i was really passionate bout it, never technically learnt it.i first started riding bike in pune 2 yrs back whn i was 23 yrs old(too old to start off, no??), nw after 2 years i was in seer need of a bike for my job purpose(marketing, nt selling bt need to travel 200 km a week).so i started searching.
Even 1 month back i was nt technically sound bout ccs and torques so first started asking to friends, who kept on confuse me with all the brand available.i liked looks of bajaj xcd bt tht was nt available in the market,
i m 5.11 with 90 kg weight, so never thought of buying 100cc, 150cc were too expensive and no mileage, so opt for 125-135 segment.
My criteria was simple, smooth engine, less gear shift(which i normally forget to change, so engine stops randomly) less technical problem(i m just a rookie, remember?)And a bit good look.
Then 1 friend told me bout suzuki zeus, on first look i rejected, i thought it was a 100 cc one, not bulky at all(i like bulky looks), never seen on road, and "zeus" never heard of it...so never never...i was thinking of either hero honda glamour or honda shine(even stunner felt noisy and not so user friendly).i reffed mouth-shut and almost got ready to buy glamour.but when i took a test drive i never felt anything special, moreover i saw 2 nw glamous (3months old)with sticker coming out.i again got confused.
I again started searching fr all bikes and this time luckily i saw zeus reviews, i got positive response from almost 92% ms user, i again went back and drove my friends bike for almost 30 km, soooo smooth and so user friendly, no balance problem, comfortable sitting, no noise and so less gear shifting, and all that in a 2.5 year old bike(kick start drum break).and this time i felt look also nt that bad but nt good too.
I thn took td for bajaj discover 135, powerful fr sure, bt clutch is so stiff, i tried to start 3times and it hopped and stopped (wht a nitmare).i went to take td for honda shine again bt showroom guys kept on pushing fr stunner.at last whn i told them in dont need stunnr they said shine is nt available fr td today(wht the f) so nw it was only zeus vs glamour.
My mind kept on saying glamour(brand name in india, great engine, resale value, less risk)bt heart was craving fr zeus.my dad (the financier) was seer supporter fr glamour.
Thn again a dark horse came into pic, new pulsor 135, really good looking bt no no reviews.my girlfriend thretened to leave me if i dont take that red pulsor, i knw bajaj problem(specially pulsor), after 2 years engine starts making noise.tooooo risky, and too costly to take risk.so chunkd it.
I went to suzuki showroom (aerolax kh road bangalore)and saw the new zeus with self start, alloy wheel nd disk break, the new graphics is far more better than old one, nice and trendy.liked it immidiately, took my mind out of the race and bookd xcd version, nt caring bout anyone, i ll ride whichever is comfortable, cost 52655 with all accessories and helmet.
Gt the bike(2010 model) 4 days bk(delayd cause no stock n delay in shipment receive, forgiven) got registration done yesterday.still number plate has to come, bt i can ride it nw, my girlfriend liked it, she only chose red one(although i wanted black, bt after i denied pulsor, nw she would have definitely left me).
Took out my bike today fr office, nice calm engine, i can handle easily in traffic, only problems are cold start(kicked fr 5 times then used chock to start, started immediately)and neutral gear finding(made easy by gear indicator)nice to handle, immediately felt as my bike, dats just begining, ll sure update in future.mr suzuki, plz make zeus look a bit better(a bit bulky??? No problem.)
I really thank mouth shut and all the members to make my bike buying easy...not aware of mileage yet, bt will give a report very soon........
One more thing, i heard that the red color fades away very easily...is it rit??Plz give tips for how to take care for new engine and how to keep the color look bright and shining...
2nd review:
Crossed 600 km and the bike is getting smoother and smoother.... Although there are some new issues
1.right front indicator is not working, since the day i bought it, realized only after using for 2 days.
2.cold start problem still persists, needs 15 or more kicks...after that i m starting with self start..even use of chock is no good.
3.headlamp is really week
but good things are-
1.verrrry smooth engine, no sound at all, even no gear shifting sound
2.gear changing is minimum.
3.sitting is really comfortable, evn after travelling for 130 km no back pain
4.milage is approx 50-55....nt bad...all r telling after 2nd servicing it will be better
5.can easily carry 2 heavy people (90kg and 92 kg)in 5th gear while going up in bridge slope.
6.start in any gear is a boon in heavy traffic city like bangalore.
