Swades .... Its a free country

Swades

Friends , Romans oops Indians, countrymen lend me your ears (& eyes too) !

I come not to critizice but to praise.

Lol! I am no Shakespeare but seeing a movie which I liked and enjoyed too after a long time made feel like declaiming to all.

I liked the movie as it’s a sincere effort and I found it entertaining.

I liked the movie for the simple humour and I liked the movie as it did not look down on the village folk. The village folk may not have the advantages of their urban brethren but they lived with dignity on their own terms.

A movie on village development by a urbanite is nothing new but the story has been told with a lot of affection and humour which I enjoyed.

I liked the movie for it camera work which captured the country side in all its glory and also the scenes inside the crowded train were shot well.

I liked the movie for its songs and the rhythm of its music and I specially liked the song on the Ramayana. I loved Ravan.. !

I liked the movie cause India is a free country and you have all types lol as seen in the movie. I liked the chap who wanted to have a Dhabha in the states.

I did not like the movie because Shah Rukh remains Shah Rukh and cannot act to save his life and is still a super star…cause India is a free country and you have all types.

I did not like the movie cause the heroine was too glamourous and no school teacher in any village have I seen looking so chic! ( but then I would not have enjoyed watching the movie if the heroine did not look chic.)

Some things are un believable… a schoolteacher dancing and singing the song as Sita …cant imagine any of the village teachers I have seen dance or sing like that but I did enjoy the song….

I cannot imagine any human community where there is no groupism or politics and disputes and so on. Village politics can be very vicious belive me. In Swades the villagers are all friendly there is not much of politics or groupism ... the movie in this sense is idealistic and simplistic.

Ahh Swades my own country … is a free country ENJOY.
