Lovely Movie

Hi-

I would like to share what I felt about the film . It is indeed a nice movie. May be it is too late but I can tell u what made me feel so? I know there are loads of reviews abt this and I join them .

SRK: I was fed up with his romantic flicks and monotonous performances ( I guess Kuch Kuch hotha hain made me feel like this , I hate that movie). Ofcourse he is a good actor , but I felt like Yeah Can u do something else please for a change . And there comes swades after a long time.

SRK looks a bit jaded but I could say it is one of his best, not for his glamorous looks or his intense tear filled eyes ( which u dont find in this movie) but for his natural performance. He performed quite well. It all looked natural , no overaction at all . I simply loved it when he replies to his boss that he is going places when he leaves his job in the end.

Gayatri : I am so relieved , after a long time I m seeing some heroine dressed in salwar kameez and cotton sari throughout the film . I wondered like what is happening to our movies after reading and hearing abt the gals like mallika sherawat, neha dhupia and others. I went to see this movie with my bhai and I was so comfortable . Her performance is really pleasing .

It was kinda plesant to see her in the movie , she seems kewl and confident . I cudnt say anything when goras ask me what Indain beauty is like , none of your heroines look Indian , they all look like spanish or other mediterranean people . I showed them this elegant graceful lady with beautiful kohl eyes who looks like girl next door.

SRK’s NAN: Thank God they didnt take Reema lago or the others of that kind. Had it been somebody like that , I d have had a difficult time getting used to see them in this kinda role , which ofcourse lacks all the make up and heavy flashy saris . This lady was so suited the role and I liked her.

And the songs are quite nice , fantastic lyrics . When I heard yeh jo dees hain tera for the first time , I was in tears . I was so moved coz I guess I can feel it as I stay away from home and my people. The typical NRI stuff( may be I shouldn’t generalise ) like SRK drinking mineral water thru out the film, sleeping in a caravan , mela raam ka dhaba on free ways made me smile .

The most moving bit was when he goes to the village to collect rent and sees utter poverty . I guess I consider it to be good performance when the actors don’t make u realise that they are acting believe me they don’t make u feel that way!!! The power cuts , bad telephone lines , mud roads made me feel as if it happened in my home town.

May be people got to have an eye for films like this. Anytime I’d prefer something like this rather than horrible stuff like musaafir and other crap. It kinda makes me feel sad that good films like this get a flop talk and skin shows , slutty kinda movies end up like hits.

Ok for all u people who r looking forward to watch a decent film , this is the one for you .Go with ur family and I bet my bottom dollar u dont die outta embarrassment even for a second.

Most of the times I end up tongue tied when my friends from other countries point out the contrast in what I say abt my country and what is actually shown in the movie.

Now I can show them this picture. We are even planning to show this film in International Movie Festival at out University. May be all NRIs cant be like what Shahrukh was in this film , but u feel U ll get back to your motherland one day and that day is not too far and believe me that very thing makes u feel good and excited about your future thats how I felt :-)

And all those people who loved this , I am with you 2. Huge round of appluase for the director. Well done Mr Gowariker !!!!!!
