Hey all.. I sincerely apologize that after a long time.. probably after months together I am writing the review.. I was actually screwed up with the schedule in the office.. but some how.. ’’WE the People’’.. actually friends decided to go for Swades... and its an AWSOME movie..
Swades is the kind of movie.. which I believe requires lot of patience its a slow.. not a hip hop kid of movie.. which requires slow movements, unlike Lagaan which was slow but pacing. This movie has only one theme of reverse brain drain and actually has shown the face of India.
No doubts the movie was made for mindset for NRI’s but is also dedicated to people living in metro. whose memory has faded toward there native place. for them Swades is not India, but its there own place from which they actually belong to and have not been there.
The movie is kind of documentary but, Bhai (look guys I respect Sharukh khan as my elder brother.. so I would prefer to call him Bhai.. u know I wished he would have been my elder bros) made it a success.. now that?s what is called a legend.. okay let us break this movie into two parts only, Story and Sharukh
- STORY or THEME:- Movie as discussed before is moving around a successful guy settled in US, has all luxury of life.. and is now willing to get back to his roots, so that he can serve his country and his people.
Sounds good and kind of heart melting..but then does it makes sense.. no I do not think so.. in my opinion its a kind of infatuation or a feeling which is temp and happens if u visit a place u have that phobia for probably a month.. but then it does not make sense that u resign and get down to that place and stay there.
There were some contradictory scenes in the movie which I would like to discuss with u guys : -
a. ) like the village chiram pur was shown 200 kms from Delhi, I know its a movie but could have been something real.. as the story line is b/w 2003-2004 and India is way ahead.. any village in the radius of 200-300 kms of Capital city is having all the basic necessity of the life.. be it water, power , telephone or internet.
b.) Geeta falls in love with Mohan and proposed her straight forward and then they decided to get married and just because she has to run her parents school here in village she cannot leave that place but would leave our hero and wont get along with him..
c.) Our hero using the laptop designed the reservoir and which would not only give water but power to the entire village..and that too in 2 weeks time with ext of 1 week extra.. does not make sense again..
Anyways movie was directed in an authenticated manner but all the good scenes as and when given to Bhai had been done extremely well, one could actually feel the heat.
the back ground music was awesome and music as such is beautiful like ’’Yu Hi Chala Chala’’, Title song, ’’yeh tara who tara’’ again was AWSOME.
colors, chorography, cloths and back ground scenes were again genuine like Maruti Spare Parts.. I sincerely appreciate the patience of Aushutosh in completing the movie.. had I been there.. I would have messed up the plot.. and would have asked the Bhai to do chaiya chiya once again.
- Sharukh Bhai’s Role:- excellent performance by Bhai.. as usual be it Veer- Zara or Swades or Ram Jane or anything.. after this movie it has been proved that along with luck one need to have a talent and how u mould the talent according to the time line is what called legend.. be it Amitabh uncle or Sharukh Bhai they have actually proved it.. and bhai has set the bench mark.

After the Press Conference was over on the way back to home.. the loneliness shot.. beautiful.. the dialogue where in he says.. ’’Maa to razi udo ti thi aur lori dai maa suna thi thi’’.. was heart touching (and these days I am using this dialogue for my mother... :).. I wish I could have a dia maa our kaveri amma).
When he ask John for the leave and passed the comments to his friend vinod.
At the book store when for the first time he meet Geeta and she was calculating the bill.. that was again good.
When he gets down at village meet the Kaveri Amma and she offered her glass of water to which he kept the glass politely on the table as he used to drink packaged water was soft and sweet.
When dayi maa asked him how is NASA, rather nasha is going and his reaction.
Cigarette shot where is Marlboro packet was on the table and Kaveri Amma and Geeta were inside the caravan and using his eyes he requested Geeta to hide the packet.
When he meet the hari haran to collect the rent and his reaction was worth watching..
On the station the guy who was selling water .. and bhai bought the water and drank it was again.. something which touches the heart.
and there are many many many shots which clearly shows that bhai has actually lifted this movie to the height where it could not have been if there was any other actor.. trust me for that.
well I thank u guys for ur time to read the review which was more of Swades.. we the SRK fan...
