Well guys Swades is finally out??and the wait is over. After the critically acclaimed lagaan, Ashutosh Gowariker has come out with yet another winner. Well Done man!
Mr.Gowariker has once again proved that u don?t need to resort to swanky cars, plush locales(read Karan Johar) and cheap thrills(aka Mahesh Bhatt)
This one?s about the dilemma which an N.R.I faces, whether to enjoy his life in U.S or
improve others in INDIA.
One refreshing aspect about Swades is that the movie drifts away from the clichéd bollywood scripts. This one?s like a whiff of fresh air.
The movie treads on the bridge between roots and materialistic needs and the director has achieved a fine balance here. All said and done, the music score is a let down;melody is missing. Also the length is a bit on the longer side.
As far as the performances are concerned, debutante Gayatri Joshi has put in a spirited performance. Some other characters like Melaram, Postmaster and kaveriammahave also put in splendid performances, but it is the BAADSHAH who carries the film through..Be it the scenes where he dances to the rustic beats, or the heart wrenching scenes in the train;the KING does it all with aplomb. This would have to be one of Shahrukh?s best performances to date.
This movie certainly proves that sanity still exists in Bollywood.
All in all a must-see
