Swati Tiffins is a neat little ’’serve yourself vegetarian outlet’’ situated in the busy Secunderabad station area. The concept of these outlets ( I would not categorize Swati Tiffins among restaurants) is to attract maximum clientele by providing them with affordable food by (a) avoiding waiters, (b) managing the whole show in bare minimum area. Thereby the cost of running the restaurant significantly reduces and the consumer benefits to that extent.
I have found the place very crowded, but reasonably clean. But what tips the scale in favour of Swati is the quality of food, the taste and the freshness (you can see hot Idlys, Dosas, Vadas and other snacks being prepared under your very eyes).
A word of caution, if relaxation and ambience are your preferences, then Swati would not be the right place for you. But if you want to try out cheap but hygienic snacks especially South Indian vegetarian dishes and you do not mind a crowded place, then try out Swati -- you will be pleasantly surprised. A close friend residing at Hyderabad prevailed upon me to try out this place and from the experience that I had, the place is … really good!
