I have purchased a Hi-cool and found it effective for individual use and not for cooling the entire room. However, the cooler technology is not comparable with AC and is ineffective at high humidity places like Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata which can be explained scientifically.
These coolers are very effective in places like Delhi, Rajasthan, and most part of Gujarat and other areas where humidity is comparatively less. My symphony Hi-cool timer switch on the display panel was not working from the day of purchase. I registered a complaint with symphony and got it replaced within 24 hours by the service personnel at your convenient time and now it is working fine.
I am happy with the service but must also admit that Symphony should be more careful with its quality assurance and should not rely fully on quality control. Though I feel the price is a bit high, for me the purpose of buying it is solved. I cannot comment on the durability of the product since it will take some time to do so.
The technology is very simple and if handled properly and as per the instruction in the manual, I don’t feel it will break down frequently. Regular maintenance will be required for this particular product.
