I have been using this cooler for more than a year. I stay in Bangalore and since Summers are not unbearably hot I thought of settling with a cooler rather than an AC.
Most of the coolers come with centrifugal fan(Cylindrical fan with fins) and a few come with normal rotary fans(Just like the table fan or pedestal fan). This model comes with the second type of fan.
Centrifugal fans have high air throw capacity and would be best suited for big halls( I mean really big halls like meeting halls etc.) while the other kind of fan is sufficient for homes.
Centrifugal fans tend to vibrate a lot if the cooler is not properly designed and hence the cooler should be designed properly.
Had bad experience with a model I had before this from Usha which had centrifugal fan ad started vibrating badly, feels like a tractor is parked inside the bed room.
This cooler although makes some noise is not very bad, comes with good water circulation and cools the room(not as cold as an AC).
The water tank capacity is sufficient for 6 to 7 hrs(depends on season). And once the water is exhausted it is not good to run the water pump(Submersible pumps should not run dry, else will get heated up and damaged).
The submersible water pump which comes with this product is reliable and the fan motor too seems to be.
If you can spend slightly more go for similar model with more water capacity so that you can have peaceful sleep for 8 hrs.

Note: Periodic cleaning of cooler would be required. If more dust gets settled inside it can block the drain holes on top which moisten the cooling pads. If this happens the cooling pads will be dry and the cooler will not be efficient.
What I would expect.
1. Tank with more capacity so that water in the tank lasts for 8 hrs at least.
2. Pump should cut off once water level has fallen to a low level beyond which the pump would no longer be submerged.
