Monday to Thursday- 8.30pm- Sab TV-
Get ready for a laugh riot.
In todays world of A-rated and cheap humour, heres a serial which promises us clean, vegetarian and hilarious entertainment. True to the name Sab TV, the channel does give us the privilege of spending some quality time with our families(sab ke saath) and enjoying some light comedies.
Tarak Mehta ka ooltha chasma is all about a colony-Gokuldhaam Society having all sorts of people in it who help each other out in trying times. The so called “trying” situations are hilarious and so are the solutions! The story mostly revolves around Jethalal Gada, a simple Gujraati businessman (owner of an Electroni good shop) and his simpler wife- Daya, who is ridiculously innocent. She steals the show with her voice and style!
I remember this episode when Daya has to cook food for a group of 10 hungry and famished people and says- “Poora khaana taiyyar hai, sirf gas pe rakhne ka hai!”
So who’s Taarak? He s a writer and is Jethalal’s neighbour. He helps Jethalal out when he’s in a sticky situation.
The other neighbours are-
Babita whom Jethalal tries to impress every now and then. Shes married to the scientist Iyer who speaks Hindi that is Tamil accented.
Sardar- Roshan Sodhi and his Parsi wife - Roshan(yup, both have the same first name), the maharashtrian teacher- Bhide and Dr. Hathi(true to his name).
All characters in the colony are just perfect- Amazing dialogues, good direction, each character’s unique style. Dont miss out the speech by Taarak at the end of each episode. It does contain a valuable message.
The only serial I watch, it is a welcome refreshment after a tiring day’s work. Do watch this.
