Taarak Mehta ka ooltah chashmah is the longest running serial. It has aired as many as 2200 shows since 12th May, 2017. It is broadcasted from Monday to Friday at 8.30 pm and it is repeat telecasted at 11 pm and 3 pm the next day on SAB TV. The show is written by Raju Odedra and others and is directed by Harshad Joshi also with Malav Rajda and Late Sh. Dharmesh Mehta.

Plot: The show is a mix of families from different states and of different professions. Taarak Mehta, a columnist by profession and his wife are from Gujarat. Sardar Roshan Singh Harjeet Singh Sodhi, a car mechanic from Punjab, Jethalai Champaklai, a shop owner from Gujarat, Aatmaram from Mumbai(Maharastra), Krishnan Subramaniam Iyer a Tamil scientist, and his wife from Kolkata and many other characters, all residing in Gokuldham Society, a residential society in Powder Galli, Goregaon Mumbai. The show is comical and based on good psychological attachment and sympathy between its characters. Jethalai Gada get into petty troubles everyday that intensifies in a comical manner. Festivals are celebrated together. Secondly, there is group called The Tapu Sena led by the character Tapu, This is a group of five members who are children, which are famous for making nuisance.
The show has been rated as the best. It has been among the top ten shows for last few years. The show has been famous for raising social issues on comical platform. It has raised the issue of smoking and eve teasing. It has raised the voice of women among society. It has been judged the best serial-comedy in 2016.
