Thank God! It was a dark hall

Perhaps this time is a special time. Its a happening time, and yeah I

thank God for two things. Thank God, it was a dark hall, nobody saw me

crying. And thank God! I am in my own insignificant way can boast of *our *Bollywood,

finally coming of age. I can never believe that such a film with a

universality has come from our film industry and never has even been

tried out in Hollywood. Seems like we finally won huh?

And yeah Mr Khan, nice, mighty nice should I say.

The

fim is as much of an underdog winning against all the odds as that of

what empathy could do to a human. It is as much of a movie which is

heart tugging, as it is joyful and comic at times.

Indians

deserve this fim, not because they have come of age, but because they

have got bored of watching movies like Devdas, Om Shaanti Om and other

cheap crappy stories. And by what it seems, TZP is already undergoing a

viral marketing wave. This film is not age specific, anybody can relate

to the protagonist. Somewhere deep within we still harbor that

protagonist in some way. Somewhere deep within we identify with his

sorrows, pangs, joys, dreams andwe yearn for a mentor like Ram Shankar

Nikumbh who will fight with our despair when we are down and out and

fight with our world when we are taking a vacation. A beautifully

rendered script by Amole Gupte, an equally gripping direction by Aamir

Khan and a beautiful acting by Darsheel Safary, Sachet Engineer, Tisca

Chopra and finally Aamir Khan.

Aamir Khan goes out of his way to

give a touch of sensitivity to the entire milieu. It is very much a

film of the times, as everybody of us can relate to, as it is a film

about a universally occuring disorder.

Dreams dont come to an end

when it meets with fire, rather they come out even more shining when

met with resistance, Aaamir Khan makes sure we understand that.

Songs are beautifully rendered and "soloistic" guitar strumming most probably by Loy has given an ace up Aamir Khans’s sleeves.

Although

this film is a high piece of art and will probably redefine how we see

our films as, yet at certain times, sorrow is not-so-subtly potrayed.

The audience is made to actually revel in that sorrow, and then given a

relief, good tactic Mr Khan, good tactic, I must say.

Darsheel

Safary in fact steals the show. Sachet Engineer was especially eye

catching with his histrionics skills. Certain aspects of the cast

although met with injustice from direction. The father’s character for

instance,  was shown too knee jerk, its not that simple. Yet overall

this is a must watch for all those people who complain that Indian

movie is not going anywhere. I firmly believe we will be treated to

good films only if we encourage it. From last year’s* Dombivli Fast* the baton has been passed to Taare Zameen Par. It was a sure grip although yet the question is will there be any more?

Do watch it and tell me how it is. I will be waiting.
