Sometimes in life we get those films that lingers our minds time to time and we just keep thinking about it. Some say it’s very hard for someone to make a movie that will touch you straight in the heart and leave an impact that will make you just think “WOW that could have been me up there” you rarely get a movie that touches you and make your cry inside like anything. People I have seen Taare Zameen Par twice in cinema and trust me I have never been so touched like this in a long time. Aamir khan has delivered a masterpiece, I will not be ashamed to say I did cry at least 3 times during this movie and it touched me in a way.
Indeed a special film, if not one of the best films have recently seen. If you think Taare Zameen par is only about dyslexia? You will be shocked people; Taare Zameen Par is a wake up call to all the parents out there to how to treat your kids and a leason if you might say on parenthood. What angel you can tackle your kids with. Some might not agree but this film is so hard hitting that I will be shocked if you do not agree to this method of tackling your kids.
The story is of a boy, (Ishaan) he is lost in his own world, and he has learning difficulties and has always been a problem child. He day dreams with colours and has no care in the world. He finds it hard to read and write at school It doesn’t seem like he has many friends and he just doesn’t seem to get anything right in class. His reading and writing does not get better and the more trouble he gets in the more frustrated his parents get. His school meeting his parents are told by his teachers that Ishaan is not doing well at all and he needs special help. He is sent to boarding school, Ishaan Pleading with his parents not to send him to boarding school, it doesn’t work he has been put in a place where it is a nightmare for any kid to be in.
Very strict and all that goes down here is discipline. Ishaan is put into a state of depression, not talking much, seems to him his parents have abandoned him (why wouldn’t he think that? he is only 8 years old) The poor kid missing his mum, tries hard to learn, he tries hard to cope but nothing is happening for him. Until one day he meets his new replacement art teacher Ram Shankar Nikumbh [Aamir Khan] who interacts with his students with a different approach. He doesn’t believe in being strict. When Ishaan Meets Ram things change, Ram and Ishaan build and bond.
The amazing thing Taare Zameen Par is that it tugs at your heartstrings and it will surely make you cry. The film runs for at least 2 hours and 45 mins and the character development is amazing, especially with Ishaan, His brother, His mother and Farther and then finally Aamir Khans Character. All have been developed that the audiences then seem like it’s your very own on screen in front of you. Evan at the first 20mins of the film audiences are already loving Ishaan, to the point where in The Jahme Raho Track the mother is getting everyone ready, this one song can explain all the characters The track goes like this (Kas Ke Joota Kas Ke Belt Khons Ke Andar Apni Shirt Manzil Ko Chali Sawaari Kandho Pe Zimmedari), Husband leaves for work she makes him breakfast and cleans up (lyrics For Jhame Raho Part 1 for husband, Haath Mein File Man Mein Dum Meelon Meel Chalenge Hum Har Muskil Se Takrayenge Tas Se Mus Na Honge Hum) It shows he leads a normal hard working mans life. Ishaans brother wakes up next she rushes and makes him breakfast then cleans up(Lyrics for Jhame Raho Part 2 for brother: Ye Sote Bhee Hain Attention Aage Rehne Ki Hai Tension Mehnat Inko Pyari Hai Ekdum Aagyakari Hain) It shows he is an intelligent student who is egger to do his work and do the best. Then Ishaan Wakes up, the music takes a slower speed in a dream whirl (Yahaan Alag Andaz Hai Jaise Chidta Koi Saaz Hai Har Kaam Ko Taala Karte Hain Ye Sapne Paala Karte Hain) Just beautiful Lyrics! The lyrics then kicks in (Ye Hardum Socha Karte Hain Ye Khud Se Poocha Karte Hain Ye Waqt Ke Kabhi Ghulam Nahin Inhain Kisi Baat Ka Dhyan Nahin Titli Se Milne Jaate Hain Ye Pedon Se Batiyate HainYe Hawa Batora Karte Hain Barish Ki Boondein Padhate HaiAur Aasmaan Ke Canvas Pe Ye Kalakariyan Karte Hain)Ishaan taking his own time, still in his own world, not rushing and getting the mother frustrated, while the farther and brother seem to have a normal life.
This shows amazing direction, the music hits in when you see Ishaan getting up and how different he is.
Yes the movie made me cry be ready to shed a tear for Ishaan when he gets dropped to boarding school for the first time, Amazing song and great lyrics for the Maa song will just make you cry, adding salt on the wounds you see Ishaan crying in the toilets alone against the wall. Sorry Aamir are you trying to kill me here? But that broke me into two and for anyone to say that part did not make them drop a tear I would rate them. Another great scene when Ishaans Parents come to visit him, he angrily slams out in anger and runs off him running around the playground many times, crying his eyes out. Like he is punishing himself, that’s also tore me apart, You just keep feeling sorry for Ishaan, this time parents will start to assume that its that very own kid out there crying his eyes out, Just amazing! Another great scene is The Taare Zameen Par track; I had a lump in my throat through out the song, a song that shows you how special a child is, the song is simply amazing and so sweet, it hits you and gives you Goosebumps when Aamir khan checks out Ishaans Pictures and painting in his bed room wall, and Aamir khans face expression is just amazing. The scene which is an eye opener when he meets Ishaans Parents first time and gives them a lesson and tells them your son is dyslexic. Another great scene is when the farther visits Aamir khan and Aamir khan tells him you should care for your son more, tell him “you love him” once in a while, tell him to come to you when ever he is in a problem situation. Then the farther walks out knowing he never did all those things making him out to be a bad father, almost crying his eyes out seeing his own song ishaan trying to read a billboard poster sign trying hard only adds salt to his eyes. The fathers face expression just amazing a great hard hitting scene.
Some beautiful sites which make you smile, as in Ishaan getting ready and in the morning walking out to see the lake. But my god the ending is just too amazing, a scene that also made me drop a tear is when Ishaan sees his own picture being painted by Ram, His face expression and him about to cry like crazy but you can tell he is trying to hold it in, He has never ever been given this much important in his life. Then when he wins the art compression, Poor Ishaan looking down, it hits you like a bullet when he turns around and runs and hugs Aamir khan at the end, one word “Goosebumps” one wanted to stand up and clap and a few in the cinemas did as well. Music wise Tare Zameen Par is too amazing! All the songs rock and go with the story.
Performances, Darsheel Safary steals your heart what a performance for such a young kid just amazing, just simply the best work I have seen in a very long time. Aamir Khan as well amazing does his part really well. The mother, the farther, the brother all did there part really well!
