Let It Go, Tahaan! Let It Go

Characters:

Purav : Tahaan

Victor Banerjee : Daadoo

Sarika: Mauji

Anupam Kher: Subhaan

Rahul Khanna : Laalaa Ji

Birbal: Tahaan’s friend

Extras: Rahul Bose, Sana Sheikh, etc.

Plot: Movie is indeed a sensitive issue taken up by Mr. Sivan. Sensitive issue does not has to be Kashmir everytime. Neither it has to be poverty nor the minorities. Sensitive issue is "Birbal"- the protagonist of this movie. Birbal is a childhood friend of Tahaan, the clement. Both cannot live without each other. Acting levels of both just cann’t be compared. I don’t know whom to call a real prodigy. Fresh talents are flooding Bollywood. Daadoo is the grandfather of Mr. Tahaan. Tahaan’s Abbu is missing [Dumb Mauji keeps shedding tears for him - but why? Tell me the meaning of mauji please!!]. His sister Sanaa is gorgeous.[Control Guys!..Sivan is a well known cinematographer. He is good at catching scenic beauties] Well well well.. Daadoo plays a cameo for few minutes and deserts everyone.. Just by dying, you know.. Movie has few good one liners like: "Har kisi ko apna maqsad khud tay karna padtaa hai"- By late Daadoo. But, he leaves behind him a pile of debt. And Mauji & Sanaa are unable to repay that principal/interest, whatever. Then there is "Laalaji". He is the cute "BAD" guy. Mauji sells off Mr. Birbal

[who is also dumb like Mauji] for labour purpose to Laalaaji. But, then arrives the main issue of the movie. Tahaan wants the company of Mr. Birbal. So, he pleads with everybody related around. And, in desperation, he tries to steal the little savings of Mauji and his (beautiful) sister. Too much of cryings and wailings by Tahaan! Finally Mauji thaws out somewhat, and succumbs to his pleadings and hands him some money. Happily, he rushes to "Laalaji" only to discover that "Birbal" has been sold to Subhaan Ji.. Tahaan tracks down Subhaan ji and his friend Birbal, who had refuted to work for Subhaan Ji. So, our smart kid Mr. Tahaan offers his help to Subhaan Ji instead. He ask him to take him along with him as he can handle the emotional quirks of Birbal towards work pressure. Subhaan agrees to it and they all head for Subhaan’s destination. Midway somewhere they are joined by Rahul the Bose [I just cann’t explain his role as I, myself, was unable to figure out that; lets assume him as comedy fillip in the movie]. So, reaching their destination we have another cyoooote kid waiting who helps Tahaan in rescuing his Birbal by emotionally "Saying naaaa something to Anupam Uncle". So thats the story somewhat revealed but should be suffice for your reference.

Recommendation: chota YES. But, there are lots of " FALTOO" twists and turns that goes in the movie. Its OK that this movie has good dialogues, good one liners, smart whiz kids who quip to give you stupid smiles, metaphors for your brain tinkering sessions.. but you already had enough of it naa? Now that you have seen so many good movies in the recent times, may be you can just skip this one. Music is absolutely mellifluous.. He He He.. Actually, no song in the movie!

Moral and Morale: Sometimes we feel stupid! And thats when we decide to take revenge on someone in the society. But, the truth is to make someone fool, we forget that our trick was possible only because that stupid believed/trusted us. We trusted you Sivan.

As if someone is listening: Dear Sivan, don’t paint terrorism in comedy, it looks horrible. Please.. Brilliant Star Cast! I saw Anupam Kher and got confused between cast of this movie and "A Wednesday". I kept betting that Naseeruddin Shah would be the masterminded terrorist. It was during intermission when I discovered this folly. Oh! BTW did I forgot to mention that Birbal is a Donkey? Oh! Sorry.. " Wah Saurabh Baabu Wah! Aaj toh tum ek GADHE ki PICKTURE dekh kar aaye ho".
