The Taj Santacruz has been my abode for some time now whenever Im in Mumbai. Ill try to keep my review as detailed as possible, so it might help some of the readers to make an informed decision.
Firstly, this hotel is not a cheap or even average priced. So, if you are planning a budget stay, this is not your pick. If you are ready to spend a little extra bucks off your wallet, then definitely you can consider this. If you are planning a leisure trip and want to visit Mumbai in its glory, then you might to give this hotel a skip. This is situated just near the domestic terminal of Mumbai airport. So, to commute to and from the hotel will be expensive and time-consuming.
Considering a few other 5 star properties in the vicinity, it is on the higher side of the price spectrum. As it is located at the domestic terminal. So, commuting to and from might prove a little costly and time-consuming. Let me take you on a room tour of the property. According to me the club rooms on the higher floors with a runaway view are the complete epitome of luxury and beauty. You can relax on your couch in your room while taking in the breathtaking views of the aircrafts taking off and landing. And nothing to worry, the windows are completely sound proof. So, you are in for a peaceful sleep without any disturbance. Also, the club room offers you an exclusive entry into the club lounge. Here you can relish nice and sumptuous snacks and drinks.
The normal category rooms are no less. The only difference will be the view. You will not get that runway side view in other rooms. Before booking, try different sites. You might come across a tariff that includes breakfast and dinner in your room rate. That is totally worth it.
The food in Tiqri is totally amazing. The starters, main course or dessert. Simply awesome. You can try calling the hotel one day earlier and try to get an upgrade to a higher category room, if available. Thats not guaranteed but worth a try. It will be good if you have an arrival and departure flight that takes off from the domestic terminal. It will be super easy to commute to and from the airport.
Generally, in peak season, dont expect an early check-in. The check-in time is 14:00 local time.
Swiming pool is decent, but you might find it shut due to covid restrictions. Rest assured, it will be a pleasant stay. Some room rates may offer you a complimentary transfer to and from the airport. But in my view, thats not required. A simple Ola or Uber ride will be much more economical. If you are arriving first time in Mumbai, and are apprehensive, then you may go for the hotel transfer.
The staff is courteous as you might expect from a Taj property staff.
