Tale Toons

Hi All,

I have a long list of reviews that I feel I think of writing/posting on MS...

but just feel too lazy to type them out !

But this one.. this CANNOT wait!

I feel its my duty to let people know what a ugly VCD this one is. This is the most shocking VCD I’ve seen! This one is supposed to be for children, I HAD BOUGHT IT FOR MY 2.5 YR OLD SON.. UNFORTUNATELY!!! :((

but it is so bad that I wonder how whoever (well.... if there is any one) reviewed the final product, let it come to market as it is!

Well, im talking about a VCD by ’’Fountain Music Company’’,

The title is : ’’Tale Toons’’, ( well I think there are multiple CDs with this name, stories are different in each one, so read on to get the exact CD details )

These ’’tale toons’’ come in 3-4 regional languages, the one I had bought is Marathi.

We have recently shifted from Bombay to Pune. When in b’bay, my son used to be with my in-laws when we two were at work.

But, here in Pune, he is in a creche all day, So when we’re back from work, he just clings to me so much that I cannot do anything !

So the easiest solution was to buy some new VCD’s for him and put them on whenever i’m too busy to play with him or read stories for him!

Last weekend when I went to buy cd’s for him, I had two VCDs in my hand, one a Tom and Jerry collection, and this one!

I already have one more VCD by Fountain.. the animation is very poor in that one too, but stories were good and well-told.

And I thought Tom and Jerry CD is costly and anyways it comes on Cartoon Network everyday! and I chose this! But, I was totally wrong!

There are 5-6 stories in this VCD, and the ones below have such gory visuals (which were totally un-necessary by the way) that I LITERALLY BROKE THIS CD IN PIECES AND DUMPED IN TRASH!

( Note : Stories not in the same sequence as below)

1. The story of a tiger who doesn’t know what a human looks like...

The tiger is very eager to see a human being .. but when he sees one by chance, the man manages to catch the tiger somehow.. and cuts one of the tiger’s ears! :O and the VCD even shows the blood flowing when the ear is cut !

1. The crow.. A story of how a snake eats the eggs of this crow..

and then how the crow takes revenge.. The crow steals a gold chain from a sahukar and throws it near the snake, and how the servants kill the snake! and again gruesome visuals of how the snake eats the eggs and how the servants kill the snake..

even the language used in this story is bad..

i’am just not able to find the right words for what kind of language that is, you know! :( wish my English vocab was strong..

anyway.. the storyteller says.. the servants hit the snake with their sticks, killed him, cut him in pieces and threw them .. ’’The servants hit the snake to retrieve the gold chain and thus the snake was punished for hurting the crows’’ wouldn’t that suffice?

1. A crab who kills a cunning crane by breaking his neck and brings back the crane’s head to show it to friends!

   
   




2. An elephant.. this elephant broke a branch of a tree where a little sparrow had her nest.. all her eggs fell down and broke.. she decides to take revenge (yeh yeh... revenge story again! ) The sparrow, a woodpecker, a bee and a frog unite for this purpose... they show how the woodpecker instead of a tree, aims at the poor elephant’s eyes.. and again.. blood oozing out of the elephant’s eyes :((

i am really very sorry to read such a review... but I wanted to let everyone know.....

Please pls pls pls spare your kids from this VCD!
