Tamasha

Tamasha. 2.5 Star

Cast: Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone

Genre: Romance/Drama

Verdict: Tamasha is more of Hatasha(disappointment) with saving grace of superlative individual performances

Ved(Ranbir) and Tara(Deepika) meets up at corsica and begins there one holiday stand with brightness, frolic, fun but identity-less to bring more charm to the trip.where Ved is living his subconscious identity as a storyteller and tara at her natural best. Soon the good holiday ends and they both go there ways with a promise not to see each other again but meets up 4 years after to rekindle unsaid love but soon to discover the guy is not what tara met in corsica. He is a mediocre office goer with tab on his watch and a part of rat race. Will tara be able to love him the way he is? Will Ved discover his usual identity which he enjoi?

Tamasha is knitted around two wandering souls one free spirit and the other ine who wants to get free. The concept of the movie sounds fantastic till the time it is told but as soon as you began to watch it post the corsica sequence very few moments will have longlasting effect. It has been loosely scripted with too many mundane moments and stereotyped musicals which used to be lifeline for imtiaz films.Barring two songs rest all are dull. Scenes had been made direct to sound natural which were very natural kudos to both the leads but again it was a dull depiction.

Ranbir and deepika have a natural chemistry which they have executed par excellence with superlative individual performances but they were squeezed by flat script. Many wont like, many will connect . yet again it is not made in entertaining sense and made more direct which will not appeal to masses. one can take a call and decide to go without expectations. For ranbir, "Tamasha" will not be magical enough to get him out of 3 duds he delivered.
