For a while we can see, Ajay Devgn is trying to do something different such as Shivaay
But he is just focusing on graphics, effects not on story telling.
I don't why in some recent history type movies they are just trying to show their work but not focusing on story telling, emotion, dialogue
Tanhaji was the same type
Doesn't matter how different the story is , on basis of whom or what the story is , ultimately its the same all of us can understand.
There would be one man who would love his country, would want freedom of his people and at last sacrifice his life by finishing all the enemies.If you like to watch this kind of patriotism without anything then stop reading it and just go for watching Tanhaji . But if you really want to watch something from a movie, if you expect something then just don't watch it.
Mughal samrat Aurangzeb wanted to rule the whole India.So he sends his most trusted warrior Uday van to kondhana and to rule over Maratha Empire .Shivaji the leader of Maratha empire sends his most trusted warrior, loyal friend Tanhaji to stop Uday van . So tanhaji goes to Uday van , kill his one man in front of him, be his prisoner, escape the fortress by finding a hidden way, lead Maratha army to the fortress, kill them all and at last he kills Uday van thus he saves Maratha empire.By the way he was badly stabbed while fighting with Uday van so at last he dies too.Thats it, this is the whole plot .
Now if talk about acting, overall acting wasn't bad. I think most of the artists did well.Ajay Devgn did well but while watching it in some scenes you easily can see he is overacting, raising his voice where it's not necessary.Some dialog delivery expression was so lame, maybe he was thinking he is in the set of Singham not Tanhaji
Kajols part wasn't that much, wife of tanhaji .She did pretty well because from this kind of character in this kind of movie we can't expect more.
Disha patani, she was in this movie just to show beauty of a woman and she was useful.Because except showing her appearance she didn't do any kind of acting.Maybe she did but to me that was not even near to acting
Saif Ali Khan, what a role he played.If in the whole movie had something to watch it was this person's acting.That villain type attitude, looks, expression, dialog delivery, a lil bit mad type behavior, all of it you would like it.In some scene you can feel like maybe he's doing too much but ultimately you would feel this was some nice way to use Saif Ali Khan
If talk about music, this movie has music? Seriously?
I heard 1/2 songs but what were those I couldn't understand.
But one thing I must admit, background music was so nice.At least to me it was so thrilling.Its still in my head
Cinematography, its ok.Not bad.Although some scenes were so unrealistic or didn't have that kind of feeling but overall not bad .Some mountain scene , some close shots were really nice .
So in the end, whoever doesn't know this historical story he can learn it from this movie.But if you want to watch a movie by expecting something new, something different with feeling, emotions, drama then just don't have hope for it
