Thanmathra

Thanmathra is an excellent movie, especially when it comes from a reasonably new director like Blessy. His fist movie ’’Kaazcha’’ was really different, and has a touch of emotion which cuts deep into our minds. The same style is continued in Thanmathra.

It is still debateable whether an Alzheimer patient will act like the character in Thanmathra. But, overall, it was a very strong character and had a good scope for the actor who handled it.

Blessy’s beauty is in handling a subject and the way it is narrated. There is not one moment of boring. Even small incidents, which may not be recalled in a day to day life is depicted so well by Blessy, that it touches the heart of the viewer.

Mohanlal has done justice to the character. But I strongly feel, even if it was not Mohan Lal, or some body else for that matter, would have given a superb performance, since the character was so strong. Nedumudi Venu’s performance as Mohan Lal’s father is very remarkable and deserves special mention.

The heroine, inspite of the big age difference, has done an excellent job and enacted her role so well with Mohan Lal. Both the kids have also also given a splendid performance.

I seriously doubt, whether Blessy should have shown the bed room scenes at all. If those bed room scenes were not there, it would have been a real treat to the family audience.

Even the climax lost its punch may be due to lack of proper sound track. It was so silent that it took some time to realise that the end has come.

Over all, it is an excellent movie, well narrated.
