I saw Tararumpum on sunday at the newly opened Adlabs multiplex at Vashi.
It was an inauspicious beginning as I saw one of the worst movies that I have seen this year.
I think the quality of Yashraj movies is going from bad to worse.
IMHO, Dhoom 2 and Fanaa were pathetic movies and I wonder how they became such a big successes.
Salaam Namaste was a watchable movie and hence I was expecting TRRP to be a one time watch movie. But the movie is so fake and it has all the cliches which abounds in Bollywood movies.
Every emotion seems so forced and even the acting of the kids was so artificial.
Maybe it is just that I hate kids who act very mature and oversmart.
The good points in the movie are the car races which were well shot. Javed Jaffrey’s acting is also spot on and it makes u wonder why he doesnt get enough roles in Bollywood.
Saif and Rani act well as usual but they cant lift the movie.
The emotion filled scenes make u want to puke and is full of cliches.
The songs are horrible and Hey Shona is the best of the worst.
I read a review where the director of the movie accepted that the music of the movie had not caught on and that once the movie is released, everybody would call him up and tell him how much they loved the songs.
I dont think thatz gonna happen. I guess he should be ready for the brickbats.
I do know that this movie is gonna be a success as the Indian audience is a sucker for Yash raj movies which make designer movies which are full of gloss and without soul.
I guess Kabul Express was the only decent movie which has come out of yashraj in recent times.
The reviews of Subhash Jha and Taran Adarsh say that the movie is damn good. I wonder how much they have been paid. I dont remember them criticizing any Yashraj movie.
I would advise all to keep away from this movie as it would leave u with a big headache.
