On 25th of Feb My family along with my parents started our journey for Malvan from Chinchwad at 7.00am.The route is Kolhapur-Gaganbawada- kankavali-kasal-Malvan-Tarkarli.
Enroute we had our breakfast at Hotel Shriram Wadapav at Shirval. At Kolhapur we had our lunch at Hotel Gokul. Gaganbawda ghat section you can see nice panoramic view. We reached Malvan at 4.30pm.
Gaaj Resort : We made booking at Gaaj Resort, Malvan. Mr Khanvilkars (098600132) the owner. The resort is situated near sea beach. You can see variety of trees including cashew, coconut & mango. Early morning can hear humming of different birds. The owner is helpful and he arranged our food at nearby Yahoo Resort (095950079). Food served at Yahoo resort is just awesome.
After checked in Resort; we get refreshed. There is Fish Auction at Malvan jetty at 6.30pm. We buy fish in auction. Visiting the auction is a unique experience.
Day II – Early morning the resort owner arranged a Sindhudurga & Scuba diving tour for us.(Sindudurga @ Rs.1200 & 1200 per person for scuba diving).
Sindhudrga fort you can see Shivaji Maharaj Temple, Tatbandi & burunj. After Sindhudurga Darshan we had done scuba diving. It’s a wonderful experience of scuba diving to see underwater species of corals & fish.
Evening we visited Bhagavati Devi Temple. Its an ancient temple besides a Dhamapur lake. You can sit near lake & just put your legs in water; the fish in the lake bite your foots & you can enjoy fish therapy. Boating in lake is also nice experience.
Day III – Morning at 9.30am we reached to Devbagh Beach. There is a small jetty from where you can hire a 2 hrs package tour .They will show you Bhogve beach, Sangam point, Tsunami Island, Golden rock point and the famous Nivati Beach. We negotiated at Rs.1200 for our family. The panoramic view of Golden rock from Nivati beach is just awesome. Nivati Beach tour is the most memorable experience of our tour.
Evening we visited the Rock Garden and enjoyed Sunset Point. Then we visited Malvan market; had some shopping. Jay Ganesh Temple near Malvan market is one of the must visit place.
Day IV – Morning we visited a Laxmi Cashew Factory. Also visited MTDC Tarkarli Guest House. The location is beautiful & scenic.
We book Tarkarli Houseboat _Hiranyakeshi at MTDC point. The check in is at 11.00 am. They took us a tour at Sangam Point. They serve veg menu for lunch & non-veg menu for dinner.( You should ask the crew members the menu you want otherwise they will serve you the available).
Day V – Morning at 9.00am we checked out and headed for Pune.
Tips
ATM is available only at Malvan city.
Try to avoid at weekends. You can have better discounts on almost every activity.
Nivati beach, Bhagvati Temple and Jay Ganesh Temple are must visit places.
