We had visited konkan region (south-west Maharashtra) in Feb-2010...it was really a refreshing trip...
We visited Tarkarli beach , Chival beach , Sindhudurga fort, Malvan Bazar , Bhadrakali-Dirbadevi temple
And had some nice Malvani sea food. Tarkarli is a pristine beach.Last year we had visited Goa.The beaches tin Goa are over-crowded, plus no safety now a days. As against Tarkarli beach was clean, silver-golden sand, and blue water. We preferred staying at one Malvan hotel , instead of staying at MTDC huts at Tarkarli.I think MTDC huts are much costly....plus staying at Malvan we could see other places in Malvan. In Malvan we enjoyed Snorkeling(underwater adventure) and saw Dolphins(really).
We had contacted a travel-agent in Malvan..He arranged for accomodation and food and also provided a guide.He provides various packages at reasonable rates.He only arranged for snorkeling and Dolphin watch.He also gave his e-mail : seasafar@gmail.com If anybody interested in konkan darshan you can contact him.
Finally I will say its good to visit this place at least once.
