I enrolled into this card 2 year back with a promise from customer service that the card is free for life. Although I had no great use of this card as such I kept it because of discounts offered on tata products/stores.
Suddenly in Feb 11, I saw the annual fee rs. 200 charged to me without information to me. I was pissed off and called up the Customer care. After discussion, a commitment made by customer care saying once you do a total transaction on rs 3000 on the card in next 3 months then the charges would be reversed.
After using the card for fuel usage, I reached the transaction of rs. 3000 in mar11. However I got the bill without reversal of the charge. Once again I called the customer care explaining the whole situation. But it seems there false commitment about reversals. Only way to get the charge reversed was to close the card.
Therefore I finally closed the card & got the annual fee reversed. I am sure similar situations would have come for several customers.
Beaware & do not apply for tata credit card. Don’t fall prey to their false commitment.
