I joined TCS without asking anyone about the company, looking at its brand name.One of the worst decisions I have ever taken in my life .Its been 1 year and 4 months in TCS.Even though you get a rating of 4, they will give you a D band and decrease the salary.When you question your managers, they will explain you about the stupid concept of relative/comparative ranking.What the hell, if you rating is good how can your relative ranking be low.
Favoritism, Buttering, doing the managers shitty work is the maha mantra in TCS.
Infrastructure is perhaps the worst in the industry.One phone is shared by 3 people, unclean washrooms, hell with the cafeteria food, pathetic shuttle services etc.
Worst part is the appraisal process.Managers will never have a discussion before they arrive at a particular rating.
I wonder how this company stands at no.1 position in employee satisfaction.May be the hr bribes the media.Corruption here also.
Each quarter you will see a news in ultimatix that TCS has made a good profit .I understood TCS makes money by decreasing employees salaries.Managers are good for nothing.They still work in a very traditional manner.HRs feel they are the CEOs of TCS and they are paying us from their pocket.Lot of process is there but not a single process is good.TCS has to learn a lot from other foreign based MNCs.Still very immature very backward in terms of everything.
My advice:Dont join TCS .Yes if dont have any other offer, you will not have any other option I know.But dont ever join with a dream or with a hope that you will a long term career here.
