I would like to write a review of my stint with TCS as Assistant Consultant. I joined TCS 3 months back and my bad luck, I joined TCS – India NGM. In TCS has, it various verticals like Major markets – US, UK. New and emerging markets – India, China, APAC etc. so I joined India NGM (new & Emerging Markets)
I joined TCS with gr8 expectations to work in life insurance domain as business person with in BNCS (TCS product) since I am life insurance consultant from last 10 yrs, while having the best work life balance.
However, I got my first surprise on the day one, when I had been told to work on general insurance project that too where there was no need of such experienced person who carries 10 yrs of exp. In IT and insurance domain. It is just like a person who works on Oracle told to work on Java. Such a bad jokeL
After that, I came to know various rubbish policies of TCS. If a person works at client side in India particularly Mumbai he/she will not get any financial assistance from TCS for travel to client side.(Now you can imagine how ppl must be travelling and how they represent TCS before client) The bad thing is your senior will make sure that he will allocate you to such a project which should be far away from your staying location. For e.g. if you are staying in central then he will allocate you to a company which is in western and that too not near to railway station, you have to spend daily Rs. 100 apart from your rail or Ac bus fare.
It is expected that you have to spend that money from your own pocket. Big JokeJ I have worked with such ppl. who not only get paid for such expenses but they also get extra bugs as they are working @ client side. It shows that company has some care for their employees and respect.
I came to a conclusion that TCS, thinks that talent will come to them and will be retained as they have big brand of TATA. But alas, they don’t understand that by each employee who is leaving the orginsation is not blaming TATA, they are blaming the policies those are prevailing in TCS.
I don’t want to talk about other verticals, but it is true fact as far as INDIA NGM in TCS. Guys, think twice…. many time….. before joining TCS and particularly INDIA NGM vertical….. BIG CARFUL!!!
