I recently moved to India n heard about Docomo Photon Wifi services, I tried looking it up on internet on how to buy it, but unfortunately there was no information on that, there was only a number on their website which was meant for existing customers only, the line gets disconnected if you dont enter ur photon number. There is an online form you can fill but dont expect them to get in touch with u. Given the friendly nature of their website, I had to find a Tata store, and since I bought the dongle it in the middle of the month, they told I would be charged only for 15 days that month. The very next day I bought Tata Photon and I left the city to visit my family for two weeks during which the the device was activated but didnt work at all.
I got back after 13 days and went back to the store to discover that there was a technical problem with the device, they did get it running, but also told me that I wont be charged for the time it was not working, just after a week I find out that not only my data usage is consumed within a week but also they charged me for those 15 days which never got to use. So I had to pay them Rs.450 for 15 days and 650 for the monthly usage which was apparently finished within a week. I called the customer service but they didnt have any authority to amend the bill cycle or adjust the missing time.
The lady on the phone only gave me two options either top up your data or your change data plan to a higher usage which was hell expensive. After all the hassle. I decided to discontinue with Tata Docomo. I had to pay Rs. 2000 for the dongle which I never got back. To conclude its a waste of money. Even after paying huge bills there is no reliable customer service, the adverts are very deceiving and misguiding. Regretted having Tata product, next time wont make a mistake of buying any Tata product.
