Non intimation free data limit, Astronomical bill

I have been using a tata docomo corporate postpaid connection since last 1.5 years. I started to use as a secondary connection, but since they were cheaper than my primary Vodafone connection, I made it the primary connection.

About 5-6 months back, since I was not using the connection as much as before, I tried to convert it to prepaid, but was vehemently requested by their agent at call center to take any of the new postpaid plans which they insisted were better suited for my purpose, and I relented. Now, last month I got a bill of 13k+ rs, instead of the usual 500-600 rs.

I was told that I have used up extra 1 gb in addition to my free 2 gb. First of all, I wasn’t even aware that I had a 2gb limit. Secondly, isn’t it their responsibility to make the customer aware that their free data is used up and they are going to charge astronomically high prices for internet from now on? Or this is the chance they wait for, to pounce upon unsuspecting customer to make them pay for their very poor, uninformed decision of using Docomo connection?

Moreover, they ridiculous way they charge is to apply the bill at the astoundingly high rates for internet and get it deducted at the month’s end. So, every month if I check for my unbilled amount in the middle of month, it shows 20000 rs to 25000 rs. Just imagine my frustration, that too as a corporate. When I raised a complaint, I received a call from the customer who tried to bully me into paying the exorbitant price but when I asked them to furnish the proof that shows I was intimated about the end of my 2gb free limit, she tried a lot to search for the data and then was really at a loss of words.

If I had paid 13000 rs, I would have got 50 mbps broadband connection from any ISP for the whole year. Please Department of Telecom, I request you to get my issue resolved. My outgoing has been barred since 10-15 days even though I have paid double the amount I usually pay for my phone bill in advance. I have complained to DOT via pgportal, but there has been no response so far from them.
