Guys, anyone planning on jumping onboard Tata Docomo, do yourselves a favour and stay the hell away! You do not want to walk down this path. I got a new number(prepaid) and disconnected my Airtel and now, am going back to Airtel who are happy enough to provide me back my old number(post paid) with added benefits to boot. Reasons to stay away
Services are extremely erratic. I live next door to a Tata tower and yet, calls get disconnected, people just CANNOT reach me and SMS’s just never get delivered/sent
You JUST CANNOT register on "My Account" and repeated complaints have NO EFFECT(M818462, M820058 etc) Writing in to the "NODAL OFFICER" is a total waste of your time, as you will get no response at all
The customer care people are some of the most in efficient people you can ever come across. Most of the time, they have NO CLUE as to what you are talking about, and after repeatedly trying to juggle between Hindi, English, Kannada, Malayalam etc you get to know just how many provinces India has, but apart from the comforting fact that you know a little bit more about India, you are left exactly where you were at the start of the dozen odd phone calls( atleast customer care isn’t chargable)
Go a hundred feet away from the main city and you will magically be devoid of service, and that’s with Tier 1 cities! People living in Tier 2 and 3 cities, beware!
If you are expecting people to support you incase you are using ANYTHING else apart from Nokia, you are in for a surprise - listen to this: SMS’s(National) failing after being sent. You call up customer care for about the 100th time to get to speak to someone who makes sense and just when you are heaving a sigh of relief, you come across the solution of your problem: "Have you tried a Nokia Handset!"?(sigh) SOMEONE, please show me a glimmer of light here!
The least said about their DIVE IN - Mcheck the better. In one word - it does not work!
Ditto for GPRS! Standard answer - remove the SIM and power on the cell and try! Go figure!
God forbid you ever have a technical query and escalate the issue to the "NODAL OFFICER". You might as well forget you have ever made a complaint. Expect no answer
Mistakenly, if you ever use mChek and recharge a wrong number, unlike, Airtel or Vodafone, who atleast TRY to get the issue sorted, you are called a liar and then told it’s your mistake, there’s nothing that can be done!(M879279)
I could go on. but typing’s a pain. Besides, it does one good not to dwell too much on your past bad experiences!
So guys, KEEP OFF! You have an Airtel/Idea/Reliance/BSNL that just about works, stay happy, stay satisfied!
