Tata DoCoMo is cheap & best

I switched over to Tata DoCoMo prepaid, a couple of months after they launched their service in Bangalore. Though there was initially a bit of coverage related issues in some areas, their service was good. Even when I go to Kerala, I am surprised that they are rapidly increasing their network and is available in most areas. Each time I go there, areas which I felt had network issues will be having fair network coverage during my next visit. Also if using Tata network while roaming, you have paise per second billing without activating any packs.

I used to have an Airtel prepaid with me, which I still use for official purposes. The charges with airtel was 69ps per min for local and 1.50/- per min for std. Local smses were charged at 50ps. I make a lot of calls in STD as my native is kerala and I stay in Bangalore. The paise per second billing for local and std made me interested in Tata DoCoMo.

After I took DoCoMo, my monthly spending on mobile recharge reduced more than 70%. Docomo provides 100 sms free for the charge of a single sms. I could save lot of money on this as I send a lot of local and std sms.

Another good thing was that on a recharge of 36/-, I get all Docomo to Docomo local calls at 1ps per 6 secs, in effect 10ps/min. This is after first 2 mins are charged at paise per second. I have many friends who have docomo, so could utilize this offer as well.

Only negative feeling I felt was the customer service offered. If you call them for any issues, you will feel like you are speaking to the dumbest people on earth. But this is not a problem because till date I had to call them only once.

Over all, I would rate Tata DoCoMo the best in terms of quality and Value for money. The best part is that you get most of the services without activating any packs and lifetime validity. For Airtel, to get per second billing as well as for free sms etc you need to activate packs and that too comes with a validity period.

Thanks,

Sudheer
