Don't go for Tata Docomo. Unreliable network

I want to share my experience with Tata Docomo. I’ve been using 2 Tata docomo prepaid numbers from the past 3 weeks (I purchased these 2 nos on Aug 4, 2009). BTW, I got them in Bangalore.

Activation: Overnight, both the numbers got activated.Initial experience: It was pretty good. I finished the initial 5 rs talktime within no time. The quality of the calls were also good. Getting to customer support, well, does a customer support exists?

Every time I called 121, the line used to get disconnected automatically. However, I managed to get to them after repeated attempts in order to confirm whether my application form has reached them. At the time of my writing this review, only one of my application forms has reached them. Once you login, if you are able to see your address, it means your application form has reached them.

Later experiences: The network is pretty bad now depending on the area. If you are lucky, your call goes through. Worst part is that nobody will be able to call you because of the network the incoming call won’t even reach you. Repeated customer complaints are of no help. Now you feel the importance of Airtel/Vodafone. Even though the call rates are not as cheap as Tata Docomo, they are reliable which is really important in time of need!

Word of caution: Even though the local plan rates are 1ps/1sec, I am not sure if they will remain so forever since I can’t believe in products from Tata or Reliance. These people always have had the reputation of making people feel good initially and later make them "bakras". I would advice people to try Docomo out but always have a reliable backup (like number(s) from Airtel/Vodafone) since you never know when you need them.
