Value for money

I got the car in June 2003. I have done 15 K so far. It?s DLX (power window, power steering and all other power jing bang). Gives 11/12 Km per lt. on Mumbai town driving and around 18 K on highways (both with 95 % time AC on). I am happy I got this car.

It is spacious, gives good mileage (considering it runs on diesel) and so far has not given any major trouble (touchwood, my warranty is getting over within a month). That is why I call it a value for money car.

Indica does not offer many things - pick up is a bit sluggish, not too much boot space, does not come with company fitted music system (thank god, who wants a Sanyo deck), drive can be a bit noisy with windows down, finer details on finishing leaves a bit to be desired, etc. etc. But then you consider the amount you spend both upfront and running cost.

The best thing about indica is its dexterity. The indica of a friend of mine met with an accident with a truck - the car survived, of course with some damage. But the most important point, the occupants did not meet with much injury. Just think what would have happened if the car was one of those light-weight Japanese/Korean varities? With indica you are much safer going out on the highway.
