An OK Car

Hi,

I have been using the Indica for the past three years. I take the car on regular long drives. I can give an unbiased review of the Indica.

The car was really impressive and good for the first few kilometers. I do regular maintanence and check up for my car (Just to give a hint of the care I used to give). My car’s engine got replaced (fortunately during its warranty period).

Good things:

  1. Really spacious.

  2. Good mileage.

  3. Strong looks.

Bad things:

  1. Reverse gear is a problem in Indica. You have to drink ’Horlicks’ regularly to use the Indica reverse gear. You will have to try 2-3 times regardless of the clutch play you apply.

  2. Bad dealers and service.

  3. The power is not good. You have to think four times before you do a highway overtaking with an Indica.

4 After 40000-45000 Kms, your problems can start. You will have to take the car frequently to your friendly (not so friendly) service station. You will start losing lot of money.

  1. Be careful not to give too much play on the clutch. When you are in the midst of a traffic, it is better to make the gear neutral and apply your handbrakes. Else the engine gets heated up very soon and can sometimes end up in smoke coming up from the bonnet.

  2. The car stops in middle of the drive and you have to wait till it cools down. It wont start at any cost. 7. Driving comfort is OK, but not that good compared to a Hyundai or Maruthi (OK, Compromise...its a diseal car).

I dont know about the new Indica. But think twice is my Advice.
