my name is harsimran singh ranu and i am from mohali.
And I have new TATA INDICA TURBO D-LG.
its been almost an year since I posted my last review on this site.
i am a student and doin my graduation in b pharma from chandigarh engg. college.
its been 4 monthe now I bought my first ever car and it was tata indica turbo.
As I am just a college goin student and having a car of my own is a big deal for me.
Before tata indica turbo I was also among those people who really dont keep good views for tata product.Frankly speaking I before indica turbo I have never gave a thought even in my dreams that if I ever buy a car I wil go for a indica. And everything got changed when one of my friends bought a indica turbo we are in same class.
He never told me that he is planning for indica turbo. The reason behind my surprisewas he also was not a big fan of tata cars. The first question I asked when I saw his car was HOW U DECIDED TO GO FOR INDICA? he laughed and then start telling me the difference between this turbo and the other ordinary indica v2 car and that was the day every views regarding tata changed.
It was not that his difference forced me to go for the cars before that also I was planning to go for a car but the question lies was which car I should go for a petrol car or a diesel car.
buying a petrol car doesnt make any sense to me as I am buying a car to drive not to buy a car and park it in my garage and I am only a student I dont earn myself and its very difficult for me to ask my parents for the money. I had went to many showrooms of ford mahindra hyundai but my search end it up at tata showroom.
LET ME TEL U ABOUT THE ENGINE
now let me tel u about the tata indica turbo
i wil not sound too technocal let me tel you the outline and I think which is enough for u guys to go and check this car at ur nearest tata showroom.
1 it has 1402 cc engine. ithe simple indicas engine was 1100cc.
2 this car comes with intercooler which earlier only use to come in indigo and in other big cars of the different brands.
While the turbo unit compresses the air intake of the engine which will make the firing more effective, the intercooler cools this compressed air which eventually helps in towards more efficient burning of the air-fuel mixture. The scientific reason being, cooled air contains more oxygen molecules, which means more burning power.
3 most important is the turbo.
yes turbo was use to come in big cars like scorpio skoda hyundai.
turbo is not only for diesel engines but also for petrol engines this helps in the pick up of the cars and just close the gap between the diesel car and the petrol car.
The turbo in the petrol engines has not been yet introduced in india but its in the european car brands likeVolkswagen GTis or BMW 5 series and many more.
turbo not only helps in pick up but it also help in minnimising the gear shift as u know diesel car needs more gear shifting than the petrol car.

i live in chandigarh traffic jam and bad roadsare not the problems here. So u get many opportunities to test ur cars power.
NOW THE LOOKS
looks well u just can figure it out which is a turbo and which is the normal indica if the turbo is not written at the back of the car or in the other words it is the complete carbon copy of the simple indica.
SPACE IN A CAR
as we all know space is never been a problem with tata there every car has been spacious and same is the case with indica turbo space is not a problem in this car.
good for long drives.
NOW LET ME TELL U ABOUT THE INTERIOR OF THE CAR
not a big difference in the interior of the car everything is the same accept some changes are being made in turbo.
turbo comes with A/C and with HEATER. Both the model comes with bumper fog lamps and with defogger.
in DLG the front doors have power window while the rear doors have manual windows.
dashbord as I mentioned earlier not difference at all.
in DLX all the doors have power windows but ine thing which I dont like is that all the power windows button are at front near the gear lever which doesnt make any sense to me.
In DLX the handles of the doors are also matched with the body colour and also the rear view mirrors.
there also being the voice alert system in the DLX model.
MODELS COME IN INDICA TURBO AND THE PRICE OF THE CARS
mainly there are 2 models come in indica turbo.
semi loaded which is INDICA D-LG.
fully loaded which is INDICA D-LX.
now let me tell u about the price the turbo DLG wil cost u arond Rs3, 95, 000. well this price can vary in the different cities so u check out what is the showroom proice there in ur city.
and the indica DLX cost around RS4, 13, 000.
NOW LET ME TELL U ABOUT THE AVERAGE
According to the company they say that it runs 22km/l without A/C in city and 20km/l with A/C in the city. And on the highway it gives u the average of about 24km/l well this depends on the speed u are driving ur car for the fuel efficieny u must drive car not above than 65km/h.
now I tell u what average is am getting from my car my car is giving me 20km/l in the city and its ok for me as it has just ran 4400km and my first service of the car is at 5000km.
The average increases after the first 2 services.
There are some precautions u have to talk everytime u drive indica turbo
1 In the morning when u start ur car just keep it start minimum for 3mins and maximum for 5 mins.
2 everytime u start or stop ur car keep the cars engine running for atleast 20 seconds the reason behind this is that turbo needs time to start and stop by doing this the life of turbo increases and believe me sometimes doing this everytime really makes u frustrated but this much u have to do for the long life oh ur car.
3 After every 3 days check the engine oil level.
its been told by the engineers that indica uses 400ml of engine oil for every 3000 to 4000km.
THE TOP SPEED OF INDICA TURBO
i had drove my car on the top speed of 150km. my friend told me that he drove his turbo at the speed of 160km.
i didnt get that chance to drive my car at that speed but whenever I get chance wil inform u guys.
One thing more I want to tel u guys that the engine of the turbo is very quite even with the fan on doesnot nake so much sound as the other indica makes even when the A/C is off.
This engine is far more quite.
