This has got to be the worst expecience we have ever had with a car. Having owned many cars before, we went for the tata indica. After the first 8 months the car started to stall at low speeds. It was checked out by various engineers from the company and after the 6th trip to the workshop, the gear and pedal mounting had to be changed and then the problem was rectified.
By then another 6 months had passed. Then recently the car was sent for its routine 3rd service. At the end of the service we were informed that the bill is Rs. 9000, as the shockers have been replaced, even though the car is only 1.5yrs old. Then we informed them that we have an extended warranty and that this expense should be covered through it. After having said so, they informed us that they will have to get an approval from Delhi for the same.
After delaying the delivery they further informed us that the shockers have been removed and the old ones put back as the extended warranty does not cover such a replacement!!!! That was the heights of fleecing the customer!! when the expense had to be borne by the company , the shockers, which had to replaced after only 1.5 yrs of use became miraculously ok again for use!! After this experince, I think that we may never be able to trus the company reps again about the replacements of parts in the car. All round a bitter experience, one which has soured us towards Tata motors all together.
