I purchased Tata Indica DLS in 2004 March. I have done 35000 kms till date.Since purchase I faced numerous problems with the vehicle. Tatas should be ashamed of making such a malfunctioning machine. Below are some of the probems I encountered:
Silencer pipe was making noise as the design was faulty. Later Tatas came with a new design and I got the new one fitted after 5 visits to the dealer.
The AC pipes had problem and they use to make an irritating rattling sound.
The accelerator wire broke in first 4 months. The explanation dealer gave me was that there was some short circuit.(goli)
The wiper motor had problems and had to be replaced.
The noise the vehicle makes is so high that it will probably put a truck to shame.
The engine oil leaks and the lid has to be periodically changed.
Indica Diesel is highly underpowered with 53 PS and it feels like you are driving a bullock cart.
The tyres start wearing out after 20000 kms. Rim quality is also very poor.
The power stearing is so hard that you wonder whether it is really a powered one.
If you have to make a mistake of buying Indica Diesel, please buy extended warranty alongwith it as you would need to visit the garage frequently.
My suggestion is: Dont waste your money. Dont buy Indica Diesel. I am spreading this message and doing some social service to my fellow Indians.
Tatas have cheated the entire nation by manufacturing such a hopeless car. Tatas should only manufacture trucks because " car banane ki unki aukat nahi hai"
I purchased my car from Fortune Cars, New Mumbai. This is the worst Tata Dealership in India. Fortune had not even done the PDI check before delivery. The people at Tata dealerships are very rude and make the entire experience painful.
If you have to buy a small car buy the Santro or Wagon R.
