I went through a lot of reviews of Indica and would like to put in my experience of over 5 yrs with the Indica car.
First to put records straight. INDICA TURBO is THE BEST CAR in INDIA till date.
I had indica since 2002, earlier, it had a lot of electrical problem, sluggish with AC on, fan belt noise, dynmo belt noise, etc...
If there is a company in India which has learnt from their past mistakes, then It is surely INDICA.
Today NANO is introduced, no doubt it is for a lower strata of people, I think it will first of all replace auto rickshwas, , do u know Auto rickshaws are for approx 350, 000 - 400, 000??
Coming back to Turbo, , The mileage is between 14-15. I drive it like crazy, , touching 110 on ring road , NH-8 to Gurgaon in early mornings(only possible in Delhi). for 500 Rs of Diesel (turbo diesel- we get 16.10 ltrs) I get any where from 230 - 245 kms. so you can imagine what milage I get.
Next - Space inside is Awsome,
Pick up , , certainly make you feel as if you are ruling the road..The pick up is better only once you cross 2000 rpm, , this happens on the second gear.
Breaks, , It slows down so comfortably that you can harldy believe how fast a car can stop from 80 - 0, , ,
You get a lot of other things which were present in the earleir models and more over , , very very useful
Inside light delay off - once you get in the car, the light goes off after 5 seconds, , enough time for your to either open the gear lock / find the place to stick in the key to the ignition.
clock: very useful and not available in most of the three box cars like Hyundai Accent / Maruti Esteeme
Fog Lamps: Pre fixed in Indica DLG on wards..
if you sit in Santro the two people sitting in the front will have their sholders touching each other. But Indica is Awesome, , it gives you your own space.
The Boot light was required, , which they have got by dialing the reverse light on the right side back end.
There are two problems
1), - As the tyre size is different in Turbo, the wheel cover are only available with TATA, ar a whooping price of INR 400 per piece. more over most of the petrol pump guys don’t know that the tyre pressure is 28 in the front & 24 at the back, , , they still fill 30 both sides, , there by you do not get the desired mileage.
2) The service bill is always ranging between INR 5000 - 6000 every 6 months,
So guys, , if you are in sales job, , GET INDICA TURBO ONLY, , , , , ,
It is diesel - RE ENGINEERED
