One month ago, I purchased a "Tata Indica - DLG - Turbo" model from the local dealer. As per looks, comforts and fuel consumption; this vehicle is excellent. It is giving me a average of 18.23 km/litre on highway with AC on for 25% of time. It provides full leg space compared to other cars. 5 persons can be comfortably accomodated in this car. As per the noise is concern, it sounds somewhat more due to the AC belts. It is a common feature in telco s vehicle. But with AC on and windows are closed, it presents, no difference with petrol cars. Pickup is great. You will never remember a petrol car for it.
Power steering, Power windows, mobile charger, defogger, fog lamp, HVAC and powerful AC are other added advantages found in it.
Unfriendly dealers are the only discomfort. Maruti dealers are really superb in customer service. Tata should think over it.
(08 Feb 2007) - Even after five months later, I can say that I had done no mistake by choosing this car. No maintenance at all, till now.
05.08.2007 - Although 10 months had pasts, but I had never experienced a trouble with this car. I am fully enjoying its riding and superb comfort.
06.10.2007 - Tatas Indica DLG turbo model is a good choice. It has no diesel engine noise as compared to Petrol engine is concerned. It is a confusion, only created by "all petrol car dealers" to sell their petrol models. With the introduction of advanced technology - Diesel engines are (now a days) more efficient, noise free, comfortable than petrol engines. Due to weight and powerful engine, it does not skid on road at speeds and is easily controllable.
Tatas Indica (Diesel) is not lacking behind to any petrol car in any respect. Maintanance is very low compared to any other petrol car (like Maruti, Santro etc.). Boot space is very large compared to any other petrol car.
Indica DLG model (without turbo) is also a good choice, as it will cost less compared to turbo model. But, Turbo is a new engine technology.
