I bought the Indica V2 Turbo DLS a couple of months back after doing some checking on prices and mainly on the CC ratio. Immediately started getting problems with the car.
Id got the front power windows fitted as an extra accessory. The drivers side one would get stuck and the front passenger side window would close diagonally instead of straight.
The AC is something that really needs some work from Tata. The side vents give out such pathetic amount of AC blast that you really need to put your face next to them to feel if there is any air coming out at all. Drive in the city in the day with AC on, and try to accelarate on 2nd / 3rd gear and the vehicle groans. The response time is really lacking in such cases.
I dont know if this is the case only with my vehicle or for the Indica as such, but the steering and gears are terribly hard. We have an older Indica at home, but the steering is much smoother on that. The mechanic says that I need to drive for 2, 500 kms before the steering loosens up (have done around 1800 now, with no improvement still...) - am only hoping for the best.
Looks like the engine has quirks of its own. Some days, you get a real smooth ride even if you have just started the car, or else, you can drive around for the whole day hoping to get a smooth ride once the engine warms up. Are these quirks of a new engine?? Need some enlightenment here!
Othewise, is quite spacious, and can seat 5 with comfort. But then again, come back to the point of the vehicle struggling to respond on 2nd / 3rd gear with AC on and the vehicle loaded with 5 people.
The turbo charge is another thing - was told by the dealer to let the engine idle for 30-60 seconds when starting the car to get the fuel running in the engine - well, since it is a turbo charged engine, you see. Though I really dont see how the turbo charged engine performs any better than the plain old Indica (apart from the sudden accelaration at 2500 RPM, nothing else great).
