After reading reviews from experts and comparing all the cars, I settled on the Indica. Booked Indica V2 Turbo DLX, Black one and got delivery within a week in June 2007. The dealer in B’lore gave good discount; about 20k cash discount and 3k of accessories. I got Stanley leather seat covers fixed at dealers before delivery. Later, I installed JVC DVD player, Sony amplifier and JBL speakers with in-built woofer(5 speakers). Fixed a spoiler to change the look from back and side views. With all the fittings, the car looks awesome! And it still does look the same J
The car is done with 23000 kms till date and still enjoy driving every time I drive. I usually end up with 14 to 14.5 kms per liter at an average within the city with 80% ON. Once took it for a long trip, covered 5400 kms in 8 days and I just loved driving every km.
There are lots of people I came across who complain; they cant view the road as they do in other cars. Truly, it was never on my mind and was never so complicated. It’s all about your driving skills and the perfection:-)
I didn’t come across any major problem till date which I read in reviews and blogs. Even the service guys were very kind every time I took it for servicing.
The Indica V2 Turbo DLX is the only car in the compact segment to offer a Turbo-charged engine. The powerful 1405 cc turbo-charged intercooled diesel engine that delivers a power of 68 PS @ 4500 rpm and a high torque of 130 nm @ 2500 rpm is the highest in its class.
Indica is more clinical and true to its purpose in its approach. Indica will provide everything in its capacity to keep you happy and comfortable. You will be truly pampered especially when you sit in the second row seats(Im 182 cms tall). The cabin space, for one, is so liberal you are likely to feel claustrophobic once you get back into other cars in similar segment. The all-around visibility is amazing. Just a peek into the cabin will make the difference evident that it’s a playground. The backseat comfort and generous space in this car is unparalleled by not just its peers but cars that cost a lot more.
The suspension is soft and supple. At slow speeds it simply glides over horrible defects on the roads. However, at higher speeds, the bearings of the comfort oriented suspension on dynamics become evident.
The Indica’s engine, its gear ratios and suspension have been tuned to make it an able cruiser. And it excels at the job it is assigned. The top speed suffers a bit, but no one in his right mind would ever want to race an Indica.
Though I bought Safari EX 2.2 VTT in October 2008, I still love to drive Indica and miss it everytime I drive Safari.
An ideal car for people who cover more than 1200 kms in a month, with small family and small budget.
I would say “TRUE VALUE FOR MONEY”.
Enjoy your drive, Always wear seat belts!
