A wonderful car

This new addition from Tata Motors is definitely a role model for any petrol car. I have recently taken a Chery Red Indica Turbo-DLG Variant. It is such fun to drive that I have already covered 1000 Kms is just 6 days.

When I went for the test drive, Considering it’s pickup and smoothness... I misunderstood it with Zeta and insisted the dealer to show me the diesel variant. I was surprised when he told ..’It’s Diesel’

This particular variant comes with front power windows, central locking, plush interiors, rear demister, power steering with very effective HVAC mechanism

During the first 1000 Kms, I have been trying to be very critical and pay attention to even the smallest of the defect which I could find.... but all my efforts went in vain and I am not able to find any except that I have to keep the car running at idling speed for 30 seconds even before switching down the engine (although this is not a problem as it’s a required for better life of the turbocharger system)

Space Inside : Tata seems to have mastered the art of making the best use of available space. It can easily accommodate 5 passengers (2+3) with equal and adequate leg room for all. This is archived without compromising on the boot space which also comes with a separator tray.

Driving Experience : Driving this car have been an absolute pleasure. It’s heave weight with a 1405CC Turbocharged engine gives it perfect balance of power and stability. Power steering have been more than satisfactory .

Fuel Consumption : My driving is a equal mix of Bumper to Bumper city traffic and non stop highway driving with AC on for about 35% of the time. Under these conditions it have been delivering 17.5 KMPL which could make any other car in the same segment feel green.

Dealer Satisfaction : It seems that Tata Motors still beleives in the old time concept of having only one dealer in a city like Gurgaon & Noida (In my case it’s Dhingra Motors at Gurgaon). I feel that It actually puts the dealer in a more commanding position and the customers with no other option but to buy from the dealer present in their city. I had to practically keep chasing the salesperson just to get a test ride and was turned bank twice from the showroom due to non availablity of test drive vehicle (I went after taking a appointment). I have yet not received the service book and they were trying to delay my discount cheque also. Actually I feel that they like customers to keep coming back to the showroom again and again with some pending issues. The customer service is no way compared with that of Maruti.
