After going thru’ this website from 1st Jan’ 07 to 30th march ’07 on the Reviews of the Turbo Version. I went in for the DLG turbo version (Cavern Grey).. All along I have been drving Petrol cars and for the very first time I have bought a diesel (that too a TATA car) only on one prime reason - Running Cost. The car was delivered on April 6th ’07. The car was spic and span except for One small Scratch in the rear Bumper, a small dent on the side front Panel, tension Springs missing in the wipers and a improper fitment of the Speedometer(Distinctly wide Gap). I spoke to the marketing guy who sold me the car, with bit of personal rapport he did change the Speedometer console within 2 hours in the workshop and fitted the tension springs in the wipers. I told to leave the small dent and the scratch in the car as it takes 2 days to do complete the job.
TO BE HONEST, apart from the fit and finish the car is running excellent and iam already getting 11.5 to 12 Kmpl. The AC is damn good. For the Chennai Climate in summer, . his beats the heat handsdown. I run aprrox 15 to 30 kms per day and in weekends upto 45 kms. Iam yet take it for a long drive...
But guys the car is good EXCEPT FOR THE FIT AND FINISH. I have complained this to the Distibutor (VST Motors) and they said they are helpless... Infact the Brochure carries misleading information about the car.. It says it provides Rear Spoiler with Hight mounted stop lamps for DLS turbo / DLG turbo & DLX Turbo, but the car does not come with this feature. This shows the amount of detailing that TATA shows in its products. IT’s PATHETIC........
All said and done I do not plan to have the car for more than 4 years and my sincere advice is please do not drive the car hard on bad roads because the rattling noise will increease drastically within a span of 4 months. Respect the car and it will respect you(ESSPECIALLY DIESEL TURBO - BECAUSE OF ITS WEIGHT).... Overall the car is good if its being treated properly.....I love it just for its diesel economy and its power from the turbo charged engine...... Verdict worth the money for short span of time.....
