I purchased one TATA Indica XETA DLE from Lexus Motors Kolkata on 1st June 2007. Before this I had two MARUTI 800AC Cars. I am driving my own cars, Ambassador, Standard Herald, Fiat for the last 30 years. Last five years I drove Maruti 800AC, and I still have them.
To have more space inside, and affected by some friends, at the last moment I purchased TATA Indica Xeta DLE instead of Maruti Alto LX. Now I feel Alto would have been a better choice if space inside could be forgotten. I am listing the minus points of TATA Indica Xeta Here:
Right side back view mirror design is such that it does not fold fully and mine has broken 2 times
Car does not pick up instantaneously like Maruti Cars, this reminds me of Ambassador cars.
I can not see front of the car from my drivers seat, though I am 511" tall.
Gear shifting is the job of unhealthy and rough piece of work. It is quite hard.
Because of Right body beam you can not see a part of the right side.
Seat belt is short and the fixing place is at left back portion and is difficult to approach by one
hand. In Maruti the fixing coupling is at a comfortable place and is on a moving adjustable rod.
Driving a TATA Indica XETA is a very healthy mans job and not a comfortable one.
I have driven around 1200 Km till now and fuel mileage is approx 10KM/Litre
PLUS points of TATA Indica XETA :
Large space inside.
Strong AC.
Strong Engine.
Large boot space at the back
DEALER: I am yet to get the Owners Smart Card. Dealer showroom does not keep simple spares.
SPARES: I could not get the broken view mirrors replacement from any shop. I had to go to Lexus Workshop 15 Km away. They have a long formality of filling various forms. They note down Km reading and Chassiss number for changing the view mirror.
