Everyone in this community has written about MAJOR Features of XETA, so not gonna stress on that anymore, I was here asking many questions 2 existing members about the car in DECEMBER 2006
*Xeta- eXtra Efficient Torque Advantage
*what does that mean?
It means(in lay man’s language) that u can drive Your car @ higher Gears at LOWER SPEED’S
it helps in fuel efficiency of your vehicle...
I’m not gonna compare Xeta with any other vehicle in its category, because every car has its Advantages and Disadvantages
*What does a MIDDLE CLASS FAMILY want in a CAR
*Xeta has all the features Required in a MIDDLE CLASS CAR
1.POWER STEERING
- AC
3.Space(no other car in its category can beat this)
4.Last but not the LEAST **MILEAGE
POWER STEERING*
I think in todays Bumper 2 Bumper Traffic and sharp turns this is absolutely necessary

*this may not be useful everyday, but its the necessity in the car
*SPACE
*can EASILY seat 5 adults very easily without cramping, TATA’s has carefully gone through this concept INDIAN ladies need a DOOR which can be widely OPENED because of their SAREE
MILEAGE
This Mainly depends how a person Drives a CAR, u can be a RASH driver who just doesn’t care about the ROAD even if the ROAD is horrible u drive very fast....ACCELERATE AND BRAKE unnecessarily*, Pressing the clutch unnecessarily, even worst DRIVING with hand brakes on....what I’m mainly stressing here is your car acts as u DRIVE, if u are a good driver u can expect 13-14Kmpl with AC on in CITY and in HIGHWAYS u CAN EXPECT anywhere between 15-17Kmpl
*NOW LOOKS
before buying this CAR many told me that hey its CAB DRIVERS CAR doesn’t suit FAMILY guys
*why bother about someone else?
In many European countries they use BENZ as taxis will that anyway EFFECT Mercedes BRAND?

I have XETA GVS 1.2 L engine, Arctic silver colour
why GVS why not others.....

# HEATER IS NOT NECCESARY IN BANGALORE(the place where I stay)maybe its required in DELHI
# Power windows was not a problem, I can fit that when I have adequate budget
# Rear mystifier was not required (4 me)
*GVS HAS all the features REQUIRED for a CAR
NOW THE DEALER
*as u can see from your very own eyes in this community many are not satisfied with TATA dealers they act as BUNCH of JOKER’S, or will be a PAIN IN UR A@@ LATER AFTER 2-3 SERVICES AND THAT’S THE FACT
and THE RULE while purchasing the CAR IS bargain hard, get extra accessories, negotiate RATE OF INTREST(with private banks).. if u are sure of taking a LOAN apply in NATIONALIZED BANKS

NO car is PERFECT!!!
XETA has problems too(for that matter which car doesn’t have any problems)
what’s wrong with XETA
Fit and Finish (cheap PLASTICS USED, u’ll notice the outer RUBBER on the DOORS fading with TIME and they are not fitted properly
STEERING WHEEL is very BIG!!!!
I Have to PRESS hard the HORN which will be a BIG suffocation in STOP and GO traffic....
(Yesterday had been to the Dealer he setright it....now no problem!!!)
- When I turn steering wheel to the extreme left or right when the ENGINE IS ON..i hear a bit CRANKING SOUND....
(same case had been to the Service centre he took the Test Drive and said that wheel alignment had some problem’s (b’coz of some Poor driving On some Worst Roads) he setright it so now no problem)
Not all COLOURS ARE available with TATA DEALERS so book in advance
AND YEAH SOME PROBLEMS in gear box (for SOME PERIOD but after sometime it will be all right NOW ITS PERFECTLY ALL RIGHT, dont worry its the common problem in many Xeta’s it becomes allright after sometime)
