I was really going to all the dealers in hyderabad, I visited Maruthi for Alto LXi, Hyudai for Santro and then Tata for Indica Xeta.
I drove all the vehicles on Hyderabad Roads where people lack road sense so it makes good sense testing a car on these roads I feel.
First ALTO LXi
Maruthi has done a big mistake using the same old Maruthi 800 engine the car lacked everything I feel I swithed on the AC and once I had to stop and start againg on the road It was soooo frustrating that the car would not go immediately the Sales guy quickly reacted and turned off the engine and there it goes like a worm. I never visited the showroom again.
Next I visited Santro and It was slightly heavier on my pocket.So I thought to give Indica a test ride and then decide to move to the higher cars like Santro, Zen etc.
To my surprise Indiaca Xeta GLS was really above my expectations.
First Looks:
Vibrant Colors and The interiors stole my heart and the finish looks pretty good for a 3.31 L car.
Then came the Seats and they were really good and the spaca was awesome and it could fit in 5 people with ease.Now came the testing time the car was fully loaded with my family and a sales guy (Total 5 people with me).The pickup with AC on is really good much better that Alto.
The car could handle 5 people with such an ease that we became impressed.
Everybody was enjoying the ride and the AC was doing a great job at 35C here in hyderabad.
I will give 5/5 for the engine and pick.
Next comes the gear shift this was really let down on the tata’s engineering having tested Santro, Alto the gear shift was not at all smooth but I felt that this would have been Ok If I did not ride the other two.
Mileage I have no info yet available.
But I have decided to get this car and Got it yeterday and and its alraedy 180 Km old now I was driving all through Sunday...
And to mention the rear seats are completely foldable giving tonnes of space for luggage with two people.and the passsengers also enjoy a ver good leg room
Going for a economic car Go for Xeta than Alto.
