Quite satisfied & VFM

After due comparison across various web portals & Test drive I decided to settle down for the Vista QJ Aura ABS model.

My daily driving was approx 66KM within Mumbai (Thane to Mahalaxmi/Prabhadevi) hence made sense to go a for a Diesel model, options I had were Swift (long waiting period hence got ruled out), Figo (High child part cost ruled out this option), i-20 (was above my budget), Polo (was just launched back then hence had no credible data apart from manufacturer claims), the option I was left with was Indica Vista & given the circumstances & available information went for it.

Got the Vehicle in Aug’10 from Fortune Motors Thane, Delivery process was smooth & got the vehicle delivered within a weeks time on the desired date.

Engine performance:

The engine was quiet smooth & very responsive, the pick-up was very good & the car could easily pick-up on second gear as well. Even after 30, 000 KM the engine continues to perform as new. No problems till date with the engine. Rating 10 on 10

Space:

Sufficient for 5 Adults to sit comfortably, can accommodate 4 Adults in rear seat with some adjustment. Boot space is quiet good & sufficient to go bag packing for a small vacation. Front seat leg room is quiet spacious (found the space to be more than Swift). Rating 10 on 10

Comfort:

AC I guess Tata’s have got one thing correct in all their models & that is the AC. Very powerful cools down the cabin very fast. Only problem I faced was with its fuse at around 500Km because of which the AC use to be on even if the switch was in off mode, was replaced & since then no problem. Got the servicing done at 29, 000 KM & is again back to good. Rating 9 on 10

Music System , The Vista Aura ABS model comes with an integrated Music system located on the central console. The best part of this is the Integration of Phone console with Music system. I have used the CD placer yet as the USB port suffices my music requirement. The phone console is very good and allows you to receive & make calls comfortable. Only problem is if there is someone accompanying you there is no privacy & you have to go back to good old handsfree ;) Rating 10 on 10

Driving with the power steering is quiet comfortable, vehicle can be maneuvered with single hand. Gear slots are well defined. Clutch is hard compared to Petrol variants but not much of an issue as you get used to it. Apart from these two way adjustable driver seat & adjustable steering wheel allows the driver with multiple degree of customizations as per his needs

Fuel Economy:

Have been monitoring the fuel economy, considering city use with AC on 100% I have been getting an average of 16+KMPL, with maximum going to 18.36KMPL & lowest being 14.28 KMPL (during Monsoon season) Rating 10 on 10

Problems faced

ABS circuit issue (light use to be on always) this was only a software glitch which was rectified by changing the circuit (problem encountered at 750Km, post that no issues)

Power window switch replaced at 5000 KM (second service); back light of power switch was not working post that no problem

Frond left hand door handle was hard, problem was solved at first service post that no problem

Boot door shock absorber replaced during fifth service under warranty (I guess this can be due to normal wear & tear)

AC fuse replaced as mentioned above, post that no problem

Rear struts replaced at first service, post that no problem

Apart from above problems the car has been a value for money with no major break-down. Only suggestion would be if Tata’s can fix these minor glitches.

Overall a very good package which requires fine tuning.
