Let me just give a brief background … I decided to buy a car (a diesel one) in mid of 2007 after my first job. I zeroed down to Swift VDI and did an advance booking with Competent Motors at CP on 10th June 2007.
After regular follow ups and calls , even after 6 months they did not delivered the vehicle and rather had millions of excuses. This was the time I decided to do a fresh research and see different alternatives. Finally I decided to buy Indica Vista QuadraJet for the following reasons:
Frustration for more than 6 months … had to have some vehicle at any cost
Space … Maximum in its category
Strong and Robust built (I also own Tata Indica 2000 model and knows the safety that TATA offers)
Price differential & additional benefits (almost 50 K less with added benefits like built in Music system, tilt steering, adjustable seats, rear defogger and Wiper)
Just to summarize, it was my negative experience with Maruti as a company and competent as a dealer on one hand and the positive experience from my 8 years old Indica which made me buy this vehicle.
So on 21st Jan I went and bought the top model (Aura) from HIM Motors. I was indeed very happy and excited but that was I should say momentary!!! The very first day the power window stopped working …and after an hour of trials … I dint know what clicked … suddenly they worked back. Every thing was going pretty good (Mileage of 23 - 25 KM/L without AC) … Good driving quality etc etc.) Came summers and then the real pain story started …
I would have driven some 4000 Kms till March… suddenly I noticed a peculiar noice "Tak" "Tak" every time AC use to start and switch off and followed by the noice was peculiar vibrations running across the vehicle. From 4000Km to 10, 000 … I have made n numbers of visit to HIM Motors and they do not even have the courtesy to talk politely and listen to the problem. After examining it for the first time they made the conclusion that this is normal and is expected from TATA. And after that they never even bothered to examine the same properly … in fact when ever their floor engineers said that yes there is some problem there Supervisor dictated them not to waste their time in this and rather do some other work as he felt that this was normal and a quality of Tata vehicles.
Now a week back I had my car serviced T 10, 000 Km and after that I feel like I made a blunder by buying Tata Vista. The mileage has dropped from 18-19 KM/L to less than 15KM/l (with AC on) and the service station has no answer.
Conclusion:
No doubt Indica Vista is a wonderful car … a masterpiece in itself but requires some serious efforts in terns of Quality Checks. Taken care of the same, any day Tata Indica Vista is much better than SWIFT. Believe me IT IS.
Never ever buy or go for service to HIM MOTORS. You will screw your happiness & peace. Today is 18th August, and what I am going to share now with you all will make many of you NEVER BUY THIS PRODUCT... EVEN IF IT COMES FOR HALF THE PRICE. While I right this I am really sad and worried about my first car...!!!
Friends, on 1st of Aug I went to CP and when I came back I realized my vehicle is not starting ... there was no self!!!. I called the tata helpline and they arranged for a car mechanic in approx 45 mins. he tried ... and for his amuse everything was fine .. or shall I say that the problem was beyond his recognition. So he and some other strangers helped me with the push and after multiple push it started but with lots of rattle. The mechanic advised me to take to the service station and since it was 6 PM in the evening I decided to take it home and rather towed to the nearest service station on Monday. On Monday the tow van came took the car to Sanya Motors. They identified the cause as the "Self" was defective and needs to be replaced. But when they opened the same they said that it is OK and some carbon has accumulated on and hence the problem. TO MY SURPRISE … A CAR WHICH IS 11k DRIVEN HAS DEVELOPED CARBON ON IT … STRANGE.!!!
Now 15 days post this … on 17th night I was returning from my office and the same thing happened. Now its 9PM at night and my vehicle is in midst of now where…. The same thing repeated … mechanic came … we asked strangers to help us and the vehicle started …. Now currently it is lying at my residence… and as I wont be able to waste another full day at the service station I have to wait for this Saturday and I know I would be again tortured as Sat and Sun are the days max vehicles come to service station…
